A method of screening for at least one biological entity of interest in a sample using a microfabricated chip having an array of microwells. At least one cell from the sample and a nutrient are loaded into at least one microwell, and a gas permeable membrane is applied to the microfabricated device to retain the at least one cell. The microfabricated device is incubated to grow a plurality of cells. Mass spectrometry is used to detect gas in a sampling region for the at least one microwell. A presence or absence of at least one biological entity of interest in the at least one microwell is determined based on the detection.

Device and method for processing slide specimen thereof

A device for processing a slide specimen and a method thereof, wherein the device mainly comprises a container, a base, a heating device, a slide cover plate, a slide, a slide rack, a liquid outlet, a liquid inlet, a controller, a thermocouple, a temperature display screen, a temperature maintaining time display window and a temperature maintaining time adjustment button. A large amount of slide specimens are enable to carry out processing such as reagent loading, cleaning, heat treatment, temperature maintaining and drying in one same device, realizing that there's no need to take or transfer the slide manually during the whole process of the slide specimen processing, reducing manual intervention and interference, not only saving time but also simplifying the operation steps and reducing operation errors.

Process tube and carrier tray

The disclosure provides a system and method to safely and efficiently store and transport process tubes in a carrier tray comprising prior to and during amplification of nucleotides in the process tubes. The process tube disclosed includes a securement region having an annular ledge, a neck, and a protrusion. The securement region of the process tube can secure the process tube in a port of the carrier tray, but still allows the process tube to adjust or float in order to align the process tube into a rigid heater well of a thermal cycler.

The present invention generally relates to methods by which glass, polycarbonate, cyclic olefin polymers (and co-polymers) and other heat and chemical resistant materials (and combinations) are utilized as a multi-well solid support vessel for the processing and testing of intact, fixed, paraffin or plastic embedded (IFPE) biological materials including, but not limited to, tissues, cells, and/or enriched body fluids.

AUTOMATED DIAGNOSTIC ANALYZER AND METHOD FOR ITS OPERATION

An automated analyzer that receives samples prepared for analysis in an automated pre-analytical module and a method of operation of such automated analyzer. The automated analyzer includes a shuttle transfer station that receives a shuttle carrier from the automated pre-analytical system. The shuttle transfer station has a clamping assembly for the shuttle. The clamping assembly has jaws that advance engagement members into contact with a bottom portion of sample containers disposed in the shuttle. The clamping assembly secures the sample containers in the shuttle when sample is aspirated from the sample containers. The automated analyzer also has a multichannel puncture tool that is adapted to be carried by a robotic gripper mechanism. The multichannel puncture tool has multiple puncture members that each defines a channel. Each channel is in communication with a different trough in the consumable. A pipette can pass through the channel in the puncture tool.
