The blade body is formed with at least one cutting-edge region, a fastening region for fastening the blade to a carrier and in each case a transition region between the cutting-edge region and the fastening region. The main body bears a hard material coating in the cutting-edge region. The hardness of the main body is uniform throughout over all regions. A chopping drum carries a multiplicity of these chopping blades on its periphery and, upon rotation of the chopping drum, the chopping blades cut material upon running up against a stationary shear bar.

COUNTER-BLADE

The present invention relates to a counter-blade, in particular, for a wood chipper, for producing wood chips, comprising at least one cutting edge made of a hard material, and a support surface leading to the cutting edge. According to the present invention, the cutting edge is made up of a plurality of hard material elements that are arranged next to one another along the cutting edge on a main member. This results in a counter-blade having a long service life.

A material shredder is provided for shredding recyclable materials. The shredder includes a rotor with multiple cutting blades arranged around its outer surface. These blades have cutting edges that form a cutting circumference. The rotor is enclosed by a housing, creating a cutting chamber between the rotor and stator. Inside this chamber, the cutting blades interact with at least one counter blade mounted on the inner surface of the stator, spaced to form a cutting gap. The stator also includes at least one outlet with a screen that helps define the cutting chamber. The shredder further includes a grinding device with an abrasive holder, located outside the cutting circumference. Both the abrasive and the screen can be moved to adjust their distance from the cutting circumference. The invention also includes a shredding plant with the shredder and a method for maintaining the shredder.

A shredder for shredding material, the shredder comprising a housing supporting two rotating shafts arranged parallel to each other, each shaft having a plurality of overlapping and offset transverse shredding blades along the shafts able to rotate on the shafts in a complementary fashion to shred the material thereinbetween, the shredding blade on each shaft nearest to the housing being an outermost shredding blade and having a gap between of the outermost shredding blade and the housing, wherein the gap at least partly comprises a V-shape.
