A wood chipper comprises a frame, an infeed system, a rotatable cutting system, and at least one feed wheel disposed between the infeed system and the cutting system to feed wood material to the cutting system. The wood chipper also includes a winch comprising a winch line having a first end, and a collar disposed adjacent the first end of the winch line. The wood chipper further includes a detector adapted to detect a first and a second position of the winch line, wherein the detector is adapted to allow operation of the at least one feed wheel and prohibit operation of the winch when the first position of the winch line is detected, and to allow operation of the winch and allow operation of the at least one feed wheel in a predefined manner when the second position is detected. The wood chipper further comprises a bypass for operation of the at least one feed wheel.

The invention relates to a comminuting machine (8) with a rotor system, in particular a knife ring flaker, in which the feedstock is conveyed pneumatically in the axial direction into the central region of the rotor (10) and is conveyed in the radial direction to the comminuting tools arranged around the rotor (10) in the manner of a ring. In order to uniformly wear the knives extending in the axial direction in such devices, it is proposed to provide in the central region (14) an insert (15) which is rotatably driven by a motor (22) and which has separate chambers (16, 17) with which the feedstock entering said chambers is dispensed at axially and radially to different regions. This insert (15) can, in particular, be designed as a rotor, which has a plurality of chambers which are especially shaped in the cross-section in the manner of a circular sector.

A truck-mounted cargo box houses a commercial-grade system for blowing loosefill insulation material in bags through a hose, without first removing insulation from the bags. The cargo box and system include bag feeding means, and a chute having an inlet end positioned in an end wall of the cargo box mounted on the truck. Also included is a material processing unit in the form of a wood-chipper style or other industrial and/or commercial grade shredder, for together shredding the bags and the insulation material, without first removing the insulation material from the bags, and conditioning them both, as a composite material, to be fed into a fluid stream through the hose. There is also disclosed a kit for retrofitting a cargo box, and a related method.

The primary and secondary shafts are positioned in the housing in a spaced and parallel manner so that the slicing blades are arranged in slicing pairs. Each slicing pair includes one slicing blade on the primary shaft and one slicing blade on the secondary shaft. The slicing blades in each slicing pair have peripheral portions that overlap each other. The apparatus further includes at least one biasing member for biasing the overlapping peripheral portions of the slicing blades of each slicing pair against each other.
