ELECTROHYDRODYNAMIC ATOMIZATION NOZZLE EMITTING A LIQUID SHEET
20200179963 · 2020-06-11 ·

Embodiments for producing un-agglomerated, monodisperse droplets using a liquid sheet are provided. Nozzles with exit slit openings shape a spray liquid into a thin liquid sheet as the spray liquid exits from the slit opening. Stable multi-jet operation is achieved by including notches along the edge of the slit. The notches separate the liquid sheet into multiple jets to provide anchoring and stable multi-jet operation. In some embodiments, the liquid sheet electrospray techniques and nozzles described herein provide high mass throughput and versatile multiplexing spray systems while reducing the engineering effort and high manufacturing cost

FLUID ATOMIZER

A fluid atomizer and methods of atomizing fluids are disclosed. The fluid atomizer may comprise an inner member and one or more outer members. The inner member defines an interior conduit for providing a first-fluid flowpath from a supply end of the atomizer to a discharge end of the atomizer along a central axis. The one or more outer members are positioned radially outward of the inner member from the central axis. The inner and outer members define a second-fluid flowpath extending from a second-fluid supply conduit to a second-fluid discharge plenum. The second-fluid flowpath comprises a tangential conduit spiraling along the axis from the second-fluid supply conduit to a terminal end; an annulus downstream from and in fluid communication with the tangential conduit; and a second-fluid discharge plenum downstream from and in fluid communication with the annulus.

ADHESIVE APPLICATOR FOR MANUFACTURING CORE, CORE MANUFACTURING APPARATUS, AND ADHESIVE APPLICATION METHOD USING SAME

The present invention discloses an adhesive applicator for manufacturing a core, a core manufacturing apparatus, and an adhesive application method using the same. The adhesive applicator includes: a nozzle body having at least one adhesive outlet; and a nozzle plug movably provided inside the nozzle body in order to open/close the adhesive outlet. The adhesive outlet includes a nozzle hole for discharging the adhesive from the inside to the outside of the nozzle body, and the nozzle plug includes a plug body movably provided inside the nozzle body to selectively block the nozzle hole, and a plug tip formed to protrude on a fore-end surface of the plug body. The fore-end surface of the plug body has a flat surface which faces the nozzle hole and is orthogonal to an axis of the nozzle hole. According to the present invention, since processing precision and processing easiness of the nozzle plug for opening/closing the adhesive outlet and the adhesive outlet can be enhanced, an adhesive application amount applied to the material by the adhesive applicator having a plurality of adhesive outlets can be uniformly managed.

ATOMIZER ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM
20240165646 · 2024-05-23 ·

An atomizer for flexible operation and a system with the same include a body including a plurality of independent inlets, where the body has a central axis X, a plurality of independent tubes coaxially integral with the body and connected to the plurality of inlets, where at least one tube is mounted along the central axis, at least one nozzle mounted concentrically to the at least one tube mounted along the central axis, at least one nozzle cap coupled concentrically to the body mounted along the central axis. The atomizer is configured to operate in at least one of a pneumatic mode and a hydraulic mode, when the at least one nozzle receives at least one input fluid from at least one inlet from the plurality of inlets.

CLEAR SEALANT FOR AIRCRAFT PARTS AND ASSEMBLIES

Applicant discloses a two part polymer mix for use in the aircraft industry that is applied with pneumatic mix and spray gun. The two part cartridge is used in the mix and spray gun so the mix is applied immediately upon mixing, but the two components are kept separated unless the gun is applying the mix. The mix cures to form a clear sealant that allows for inspection of cracks and corrosion beneath the sealant. It cures quickly so that the coated part may be further processed, for example in the assembly line during aircraft build. Applicant further discloses multiple spray gun systems for applying such a two-part polymer mix to aircraft parts.
