Peristaltic pump and trailer mounted self pumping sprayer system incorporating same

A sprayer system having a trailer, which is pulled by a tractor or other tow body, and has a tank carrying liquid to be sprayed and a spray head. The trailer has a peristaltic pump mounted on a frame and driving pumping power from the wheels of the trailer so that the sprayer is self pumping when the trailer is pulled. The peristaltic pump provides a smooth flow by providing a multiplicity of pulses of liquid produced by the pump from the rotation of the trailer wheels by wrapping the compressible tube of each pump around an assembly of rollers which are rotated by drive wheels. The tube is wrapped at least 360 around the rollers and is held stationary by being connected to fixed outlet and inlets of each pump. The tube lies side by side on at least one of the rollers of each assembly and overlaps that roller.

Embodiments of a spray fluid operation system include a fluid flow circuit that provides several sprayer features while using a minimum number of fluid pumps. In an agricultural setting, a first pump (one function of which is filling) is integrated with a second pump (one function of which is spraying) and both located compactly underneath the solution tank. In some embodiments that include only two pumps, they are centrifugal impeller pumps. Each of the two pumps is capable of performing more than one function. Together, they provide self-primed filling, auto dilution, eductor rinsing, and so on, in a fluid-isolated manner to avoid fluid contamination.

The pump includes a tube having elasticity and having a flow path through which a chemical liquid flows in; and a case having an internal space partitioned into at least two chambers through which gas is supplied or discharged, where the at least two chambers cover an outer circumference of the tube. Using the pump, the apparatus for supplying a chemical liquid and the apparatus for processing a substrate, by an operation in which gas is supplied or discharged into each partitioned chamber in the case, by applying or releasing pressure to the outer circumference of each corresponding tube independently without interfering between the internal pressures between the chambers, efficient pumping operation of the pump may be obtained, and precise control of the discharge pressure of the liquid may be implemented.

The methods include pumping coating from containers into a tank on the vehicle and dispensing the coating for application on a surface. A method also includes removing residual coating from the containers after pumping out coating and adding the residual coating material to the tank. If the level of coating is at the desired level in the tank, a layer of water may be formed over the coating in the tank.

A fluid spraying system includes a manifold, four pumps connected in parallel to the manifold, a control unit configured to control air supply to the four pumps, a plurality of metering valves connected to the manifold for adjusting mixture of different chemicals, and a spray gun connected to the manifold for dispensing fluid. The control unit is configured to selectively activate and deactivate individual pumps of the four pumps. The four pumps are air-operated double diaphragm pumps. The system further includes a warning module configured to alert a user of a problem with a specific pump. The manifold and pumps are constructed of plastic and rubber materials. The control unit coordinates power to each pump based on user needs and internal system conditions, and adjusts flow rate of fluid to the spray gun by controlling the activation of the pumps.

MOBILE SPRAY SYSTEM

A spray system includes a fluid tank assembly with a reservoir defining a fluid storage volume and a fluid pump system releasably connectable to the reservoir. The fluid pump system comprises a pump, an inlet configured to receive fluid from the reservoir and an outlet configured to deliver pressurized fluid to a spray nozzle. A releasable coupling mechanism establishes fluid communication between the reservoir and the pump when engaged and allows for tool-less disconnection for maintenance, cleaning or replacement. The system permits rapid detachment of the pump from the tank assembly, enhancing portability, refilling convenience, and ease of servicing.
