The medicine tank is configured to be detachable with respect to the working tank. The working tank is configured to be detachable with respect to the main body.

The coating applicator may further comprise a drier, and the drier may comprise an arrangement to operate the source of vacuum for a time sufficient to promote drying of applied therapeutic agent. Deposition of the atomized therapeutic agent may be promoted by contacting the atomized therapeutic agent while the object is in a chilled condition and by contacting the object with atomized therapeutic agent while the atomized therapeutic agent is in a heated condition. The output of an oscillation circuit in the main body is applied to the ultrasonic vibrator through a main body-side contact electrode and a tank-side contact electrode when the tank unit is mounted on the main body. The main body includes an air fan that blows air into the medicine tank through an air duct of the medicine tank cover, and a medicine tank cover detection unit that detects whether or not the air duct of the medicine tank cover is adjacent to the main body so as to detect whether or not the tank unit is mounted on the main body.

A hand-held or wearable device for cooling tissue of an eye of a patient is disclosed. In one aspect, the device includes a reservoir having fluid therein and a support connected to the reservoir and configured to be positioned on a face of the patient. The device also includes a nozzle positioned proximate to the support and fluidically connected to the reservoir, the nozzle configured to pass the fluid from the reservoir onto a surface of the eye. The device further includes a cooling element configured to cool the fluid from the reservoir such that it exits the nozzle at a temperature of between −100° C. and 15° C. The device further includes an ultrasonic vibrator positioned near the nozzle and configured to generate mist from at least part of the fluid.

An ultrasonic transducer can be located at the bottom portion of the container and configured to generate waves in the liquid. A sleeve can extend from the bottom portion toward the top portion of the container. The sleeve can be configured to direct the waves along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve. A float can be located within the sleeve and be configured to move along the longitudinal axis of the sleeve. The float can define a through hole, wherein the waves are concentrated toward a surface of the liquid by passing through the through hole.

A derivatization apparatus and method for coating a sample carrier with a reagent solution. The derivatization apparatus consists of a closed system in which a small quantity of reagent solution is sprayed into a closed container via a spray nozzle. A sample carrier is located in the closed container and is coated as homogeneously as possible with the reagent solution.

A liquid coating apparatus includes a liquid chamber, a diaphragm deformable to change a volume of the liquid chamber, a piezoelectric element that deforms the diaphragm in a thickness direction, a pressurized casing bottom-wall portion between the piezoelectric element and the diaphragm to support the piezoelectric element from a diaphragm side, a fixed casing bottom wall portion that supports an end of the piezoelectric element on a side opposite to the diaphragm, a plunger that extends through the pressurized casing bottom-wall portion and transmits expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric element to the diaphragm, and a coil spring that is between the piezoelectric element and the pressurized casing bottom-wall portion and is supported by the first support portion to apply a compressive force to the piezoelectric element.
