A liquid applying apparatus for fiber products is provided, including a first liquid applying device, a second liquid applying device, and a third liquid applying device. The second liquid applying device is adjacent to the first liquid applying device and the third liquid applying device. The first liquid applying device and the second liquid applying device respectively apply and coat liquids on different surfaces of a two-layer fiber product, and the third liquid applying device applies and coats a liquid on a surface of a single-layer fiber product. The second liquid applying device and the third liquid applying device press and laminate the two-layer fiber product and the single-layer fiber product together to form a three-layer fiber product with uniformly distributed liquids therein.

A fluid distribution device, for applying a fluid onto a transfer roller, includes an elongated chamber, at least one inlet for letting a fluid into the chamber, a longitudinal opening extending in the axial direction and adapted to face a transfer roller to allow fluid to exit the chamber and contact the transfer roller, and at least one wiper blade extending along at least a portion of the longitudinal opening. The chamber includes, at each of the two axial ends of the chamber, a wall separating the chamber from a cavity. The wall has a wall surface arranged to face the transfer roller when the device is in use. The wall is dimensioned so that the wall surface will be distanced from the transfer roller when the device is in use, so as to allow fluid to be present in a gap between the wall surface and the transfer roller.

Areal weight or thickness of a moving coated metal sheet along its entire cross directional width is derived by correlating thermographic image data to online, scanning basis weight measurements. Thermal imaging camera captures thermal images of a heated moving coated metal sheet material along a cross direction at a first position along the machine direction to generate sequential temperature profiles. Scanning beta gauge measures the areal weight of the moving coated metal sheet downstream at a second position. An infrared temperature sensor also measures the temperature of the moving coated metal sheet which is at a lower temperature at or near the second position. The temperature differential between the cross directional thermographic image data and the latter infrared temperature is a function of the basis weight. Basis weight measurements from the beta gauge is used to extrapolate cross directional basis weight data.

A glue application device is provided for the application of glue to a short side of a plate-shaped workpiece. Such a glue application device can be included in a coating machine.

A device for lacquer transfer is disclosed having a frame, a transfer roller with a circumferential lateral wall, and a slit nozzle for dispensing lacquer, wherein an outside contact surface of the lateral wall includes several depressions. The transfer roller is mounted rotatably about an axis of rotation to the frame, wherein the slit nozzle is arranged for dispensing lacquer into respective depressions in the lateral wall while the transfer roller is rotated about the axis of rotation, wherein the transfer roller is configured to roll with the outside contact surface on a work surface of a work piece for transferring the lacquer from the depressions to the work surface of the work piece, wherein the slit nozzle at its muzzle end includes an upper lip and a lower lip as well as a slit between the upper and lower lips for dispensing lacquer.

A resin applicator including a pair of transfer rings that are arranged so that transfer surfaces face each other via a clearance; at least one resin supply that supplies an ultraviolet cure resin to the transfer surfaces of the transfer rings; and at least one ultraviolet light source that supplies an ultraviolet ray to at least the clearance.

A doctor blade, intended for a doctor blade chamber (6) for a flexography printing unit (1) equipped with a screened cylinder (4), presents in the form of a rectangular blade, with a functional longitudinal side (34) of which a longitudinal edge is capable of making contact with the screened cylinder (4), a longitudinal fastening side (33) and two lateral sides (36, 37).

The doctor blade comprises at least one opening located towards the functional longitudinal side (34) and towards the first of the two lateral sides (36, 37).

The application apparatus further includes a third roller disposed in contact with the first roller at a position different from the conveyance nip, and a fourth roller disposed in contact with the second roller at a position different from the conveyance nip. The third roller has a rigidity higher than a rigidity of the first roller, and the fourth roller has rigidity higher than a rigidity of the second roller.
