Optically bonding a first substrate to a second substrate, or vice versa, by contacting an adhesive on the second substrate with a fill material of the first substrate.
NOZZLE ARRANGEMENT FOR APPLYING FLUIDS, SYSTEM HAVING SUCH A NOZZLE ARRANGEMENT, AND METHOD FOR APPLYING FLUIDS
A nozzle arrangement applies fluids, in particular thermoplastic adhesives, to a substrate. The nozzle arrangement and the substrate move relative to one another in a first direction. The nozzle arrangement has a main body which is exchangeably connected to a mounting region of a distributor and which has an end-side side surface extending in a second direction running at least substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The end-side side surface of the main body can have mutually adjacently arranged first outlet nozzles for the fluid to be applied formed in a first row extending along the second direction and mutually adjacently arranged second outlet nozzles for a second fluid formed in a second row extending along the second direction and that is parallel to the first row.
Flow diverter in fluid application device
A fluid application device having a flow diverter is provided. The fluid application device includes an applicator head having an internally formed manifold having a fluid input conduit, two or more fluid output conduits and a chamber disposed between the input conduit and the two or more output conduits. An external attachment surface is formed on the applicator head and is configured to have two or more nozzles selectively and removably secured thereto. A flow diverter is removably disposed in the chamber and includes a plug having two or more channels, each channel in fluid communication with the fluid input conduit and a respective fluid output conduit of the two or more output conduits. The fluid input conduit is configured to receive a fluid from a supply source and the two or more fluid output conduits are configured to discharge the fluid from the applicator head to respective nozzles.
System and method for active adhesive recirculation control
A method for controlling a recirculation pump assembly is disclosed. The method includes receiving a process-dependent characteristic and determining a recirculation flow rate of adhesive that flows to the recirculation pump assembly based on the process-dependent characteristic. The method further includes determining a recirculation pump speed of the recirculation pump assembly for pumping the adhesive to a supply channel using the recirculation flow rate, and adjusting an operating speed of the recirculation pump assembly to match the recirculation pump speed. A system and storage device for performing the above method are also disclosed.
Variable volume strand coating apparatus and method
A fluid application device includes an applicator head, a first fluid passageway extending in the applicator head, a second fluid passageway extending in the applicator head, a plurality of metering devices connected to the applicator head. A first metering device of the plurality of metering devices is configured to meter a fluid to the first fluid passageway and a second metering device of the plurality of metering devices is configured to meter the fluid to the second fluid passageway. The device further includes a plurality of valve modules, each valve module actuatable between an open condition and a closed condition to control flow of the fluid and a nozzle having one or more discharge orifices. At least one orifice of the one or more discharge orifices is positioned downstream from the first passageway and the second passageway to receive the material from both the first and second fluid passageways.
LIQUID MATERIAL DISPENSING SYSTEM HAVING A SLEEVE HEATER
A dispensing system receives liquid material and process air. The dispensing system includes a manifold body having a liquid material passage and a process air passage. The dispensing system includes a heating member received in the manifold body. The heating member has an upper portion, a lower portion, an outer surface, and a groove in the outer surface. The groove may extend between the upper portion and the lower portion and form at least a portion of the process air passage. The dispensing system may further include a nozzle configured to dispense the liquid material. The heating member may be configured to heat the process air as the process air passes through the groove and heat the liquid material through contact of the outer surface of the heating member with the manifold body.
Device For Dispensing A Fluid Medium
A device for dispensing a fluid medium comprises a head portion and a base body portion, and further comprises a cavity for receiving the fluid medium, wherein the head portion comprises a dispensing opening leading into the cavity for dispensing the fluid medium, wherein the device further comprises a rod that is displaceable in an axial direction between a first end position and a second end position and comprises a sealing portion at a first end portion of the rod that in the first end position is arranged spaced from the dispensing opening and in the second end position closes the dispensing opening on a side facing the cavity. A second end portion of the rod is guided out of the cavity for coupling the rod to an actuator, wherein the device further comprises a seal for sealing the second end portion with respect to the cavity. The seal comprises a first seal portion connected stationary to the rod and a second seal portion that abuts in a stationary manner against a wall delimiting the cavity, wherein the seal comprises an area of elasticity between the first seal portion and the second seal portion and in the second end position of the rod is stretched in the axial direction in relation to an initial state of the seal.
