The present invention is directed to construction tools. The present invention includes tools used for applying mastic or mud to a work surface, for example, a flat box mastic applicator tool, blade assembly, and/or blade adjustment system, that have many improvements too numerous to mention all in the Abstract. The flat box mastic applicator may include unique walls. The blade assembly may have a non-uniform cross section, e.g., a blade holder with thinner areas and/or material removed at various locations along its lateral length. The blade holder may have a larger size outer end(s) to withstand bending or braking. The blade holder may have and arched shape, ribs or bumps for holding a blade more firmly, and a ridge or bump at its outer edge to act as a dam. The blade adjustment system may include symmetrical pins or posts and a tapered leaf spring. See further improvements herein.

Spreading unit with adjustable shaper

The disclosure relates to a spreading unit having a shaper for spreading viscous material, in particular sealing material, on a component, wherein the shaper has a first shaping contour for shaping the viscous material in the process of the spreading, wherein at least a second shaping contour of the shaper for shaping the viscous material can be brought by means of an actuator, in a direction of spreading, into superimposition with the first shaping contour, so that a shape of the shaper is adjustable during an application process.

A production apparatus of an electrode mixture layer, comprising: a support unit; a feeding unit that feeds granulated particles on or above the support unit; a conveying unit that conveys the granulated particles that have been fed on or above the support unit; a squeegee unit that levels the conveyed granulated particles to form a granulated particle layer, the squeegee unit including a passage portion, and non-passage portions that are provided at both ends of the passage portion; and a forming unit that applies a load to the granulated particle layer to form an electrode mixture layer, wherein the squeegee unit has a first adjusting mechanism capable of continuously changing a gap in a width direction so that gaps at end portions in the width direction of the passage portion are narrower than a gap at a central portion.
