Dispensing System and Method for Dispensing a Slurry or Glaze to Build or Print Products of the Ceramics Industry, in Particular Ceramic Tiles
A dispensing system for dispensing a slurry or glaze for making or printing products of the ceramic industry comprises a plurality of reservoirs suitable for containing a respective fluid mixture or glaze and at least one dispenser associated with the reservoirs and equipped with at least one outlet for dispensing the fluid mixture. The system further comprises at least one mixer operatively interposed between the reservoirs and the dispenser, and configured to receive the fluid mixture from each reservoir and to send a mixed fluid to the dispenser, adjusting means operatively interposed between each reservoir and the mixer, and a control unit associated with the adjusting means and configured to drive them so as to adjust the mixing ratio between the flow rates of fluid mixtures into the mixer depending on a reference signal related to a predetermined hue of the mixed fluid.

The present invention relates to a coating apparatus for an elongate workpiece and a method of operating the coating apparatus. The coating apparatus generally includes a first tray and a second tray with coating tubes interconnected to the trays. The coating apparatus is operable to automatically adjust the coating tubes to a predetermined volume of fluid. In one embodiment, the coating apparatus can fill a first coating tube interconnected to the first tray with a first fluid while the elongate workpiece is being dipped into a second fluid within a second coating tube interconnected to the second tray. Optionally, the coating apparatus includes a control system operable to activate a pump to fill the coating tubes with the predetermined volume of fluid. The control system can receive data from a sensor operable to determine a position of an upper surface of the fluid in a tray or a coating tube.

Systems and methods are provided for use with a thermoplastic road marking system (e.g., paint truck). The systems and methods control an insertion or replenishment rate of unmelted thermoplastic paint feed stock into a thermoplastic melter based, at least in part, on the rate that thermoplastic melt is being applied to a marking surface. By substantially matching the replenishment rate into the thermoplastic melter with the application rate, thermal variance within the thermoplastic melter is reduced, which improves the consistency of marking lines applied to surfaces.

An application material container has a fixed portion and a container portion. The fixed portion is configured to be fixable to a fixing member included in an application mechanism. A lower surface of the first flange is in contact with an upper surface of the fixed portion. A gap is provided between a portion lower than the first flange on the side surface of the container portion and a side surface of the fixed portion. The container portion is horizontally movable within a range of the gap.
Viscous fluid supply device
In solder printer, solder supply device uses positive and negative pressure supply device to apply pressure inside air chamber to move solder cup inside outer tube, such that solder paste is supplied from supply nozzle. Controller, when supply of solder paste from supply nozzle is stopped, performs drive control of positive and negative pressure supply device to decrease the pressure inside air chamber, and uses timer to measure the time required from the starting of decreasing the pressure inside the air chamber to when the pressure inside air chamber has reached a set pressure. Because this required time corresponds to the movement amount of solder cup from the start of supply of the solder paste to when supply is stopped, controller using the measured required to estimate the remaining amount of the solder paste in detail with good accuracy.
Systems and methods for applying a liquid coating to a substrate
System and methods for calibrating a coating system are disclosed. Initially, a material is dispensed using an applicator of the coating system for a predetermined time period. A characteristic of the dispensing of the material for the predetermined time period is then determined. The characteristic of the dispensing of the material is compared to a predetermined range and it is determined that the characteristic of the dispensing of the material is outside of the predetermined range. In response, a velocity of the applicator, a pulse rate of the applicator, a temperature of the material, a pressure of the material supplied to the applicator, or a fan width of the applicator is adjusted to change the characteristic of the dispensing of the material.
