In one example, a solvent-borne coating composition includes a solvent(s), a colorant(s), a binder including one or more resins, a sag control agent, and a wax dispersion. The sag control agent includes urea crystals that are present in an amount of from about 0.5 wt. % to about 6 wt. % based on the weight of the binder. The wax dispersion includes ethylene vinyl acetate-based wax particles present in an amount of from about 3 wt. % to about 8 wt. % based on the weight of the binder. The solvent-borne coating composition has a non-volatile content of from about 11 to about 30 vol. % based on the volume of the solvent-borne coating composition.

Also provided is a superhydrophobic coating composition further comprising a fluid. Also provided is a method for preparing a super-hydrophobic (SH) surface, where the method includes mixing an NP component with at least one RI and possibly with a fluid, thereby providing a coating composition, applying the coating composition onto a substrate (pre-coated or containing oxides) thereby providing a coated substrate; and applying radiation to the coated substrate, thereby providing the SH surface on which at least part of the NP component is covalently bound, directly or indirectly, to the substrate.

Method of manufacturing a panel

A method is provided for manufacturing a panel. of the method may involve supplying a substrate having an upper side. A layer may be provided onto the upper side. The upper side may be irradiated so as to cure at least a part of the layer by irradiation, hence forming the panel. The layer may include a liquid coating on substantially the entire upper side and a substance which is digitally printed locally on the upper side. The substance and the liquid coating may cooperate such that either (1) the coating and the substance react with each other, whereas the substance is a liquid that is printed on the upper side before the coating is applied and wherein the substance and the coating have different surface tensions, or (2) the coating is non-curable or only curable to a limited extent by the irradiation, whereas the substance makes the coating curable by the irradiation at locations where they meet each other.

DURABLE HYDROPHILIC-SUPER-HYDROPHOBIC BIPOLAR SELF-CLEANING COMPOSITE FILM, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR

The present invention belongs to the field of super-hydrophobic surface technology, and discloses a durable hydrophilic-super-hydrophobic bipolar self-cleaning composite film and a preparation method therefor. The preparation method is as follows: adding an epoxy silane coupling agent into an organic solvent; after stirring and mixing well, adding an amine curing agent and distilled water to the mixture; stirring and adding micron-sized solid particles and hydrophobic nano silicon dioxide particles; continuing stirring to obtain a hydrophilic layer solution; adding a hydrophobic modifier and a hydrophilic nano silicon dioxide particles into the solvent to obtain a hydrophobic layer solution; coating a pretreated substrate surface with the hydrophilic layer solution, and performing heating treatment at 60 C. to 80 C. for 10-50 min; then coating the surface with the hydrophobic layer solution, and performing heating treatment at 100 C. to 140 C. for 50-90 min to obtain the durable hydrophilic-super-hydrophobic bipolar self-cleaning composite film. The preparation method of the present invention is simple, and the super-hydrophobic surface of the obtained composite film has strong mechanical durability and a good industrial application prospect.
