Composite coating for noise and vibration damping and brake pad having such a coating
A coating, in particular a coating for a back side of a brake pad opposite a braking side, includes a pair of bonding layers and a composite layer. Each of the bonding layers includes an epoxy material. The composite layer is disposed between the pair of bonding layers, and includes a mixture of a rubber material and particles of a secondary material. A method for forming the coating includes coating a layer of epoxy onto the surface to be coated to form a first bonding layer, coating the mixture of the rubber material and particles of a secondary material onto the first bonding layer to form a composite layer, coating a layer of epoxy to the composite layer to form a second bonding layer, and then curing the coating via a curing process.
SLIDE BEARING COMPRISING A PRIMER SYSTEM AS ADHESION PROMOTER
A slide bearing can include a metal support, a primer layer, an adhesive layer applied directly thereto, and a sliding layer applied to the adhesive layer. The primer layer can include an oligomeric condensate of at least one silanol selected from the group having the formula:
##STR00001## wherein x is 1 or 2, y is 0 or 1.
The moieties R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be the same or different. The moieties R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can be selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, i-propyl, and a functionalized alkyl group R(CH.sub.2).sub.z, wherein z is at least 1. Slide bearings comprising a primer system based on silanol oligomeric condensates show improved peel strength than their analogous slide bearings lacking the primer system.

Composite coatings having improved UV and paint stripping resistivity and methods for making same
A composite structure having a co-curable or co-cured coated epoxy-based composite material coated with a co-curable epoxy-based adhesive surfacing material layer and a polyurethane-based coating material layer, along with components and large objects including the co-curable or co-cured coated epoxy-based composite structures.
Retroreflective sheet
A retroreflective sheet 9 of the present invention includes; a surface layer 1; a glass bead holding layer 5 containing glass beads 3 that are located randomly as viewed cross-sectionally; and a metal reflective layer 4 on a back surface side of the glass bead holding layer 5. The surface layer 1 is a vinyl chloride resin layer. The retroreflective sheet further includes, between the vinyl chloride resin layer and the glass bead holding layer, a barrier layer 2 for preventing deterioration of the metal reflective layer. The barrier layer 2 is preferably an alkyd-melamine resin layer. Thereby, it is possible to provide a retroreflective sheet that can prevent the degradation of, e.g., the reflective function of the metal reflective layer on the back surface side of the glass bead holding layer and thus maintaining high weather resistance and wide-angle reflectivity, and that can exhibit high surface printability.
Coating and methods for extending service life of oilfield operational components
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.

Coated mat of inorganic fibers, and functional decorative layers, manufactured therefrom, in floor, ceiling and wall coverings
The invention relates to mats of inorganic fibres, in particular glass mats, with a special coating and decorative coatings, manufactured therefrom, in floor, ceiling and wall coverings, and also a method for their manufacture.
Method for making pots and pans, equipped with a multi-layer coating of non-stick material
A method for making pots and pans, equipped with a multi-layer coating of non-stick material including the forming of multiple layers of coating of an inner surface of a wall delimiting a cooking cavity, performed by cyclical repetition of a step of applying suitable substances and subsequent drying and baking in an oven of said layers of substances applied, at least the final layer of said substances being obtained by using a non-stick substance. The method includes, before the step of applying the substance for forming at least the final layer coating the cooking cavity of the pot, a step of adding as an additive edible oil or grease to the liquid substance to be applied for forming said final layer.
