Coated fluid handling components and methods for protecting and extending the service life of fluid handling components
Coating compositions for coating fluid handling components, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of a fluid handling component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.
METHODS OF PREPARING POROUS WOOD PRODUCTS FOR PAINTING AND FINISHING
Methods of preparing porous wood products for painting or finishing are described. The methods comprise applying to a porous wood product a UV-curable coating and curing by UV light the top UV curable coating to 70% to 95% cure, preferably 85% to 95% for spray-applied top UV curable coatings to produce a partially cured porous wood product. The methods typically further include the step of sanding the surface of the partially cured porous wood product and painting or staining, for example with a water-based or solvent-based stain or paint.
Coating composition and method for producing powder coating
A powder coating composition is provided herein. The powder coating composition includes a glycidyl-functionalized (meth)acrylic resin as a film-forming binder, a cross-linking agent (hardener) for the binder, particles chosen from the group comprising aluminum oxide Al.sub.2O.sub.3 and aluminum hydroxide Al(OH).sub.3 particles, and a coating additive, the wt % based on the total weight of the powder coating composition. A process for the production of a scratch resistant powder coating is also provided herein. The process includes the steps of a) applying a transparent clear coat or a pigmented top coat directly onto a substrate surface or onto a prior coating, and b) curing the clear coat or the top coat applied in step a) wherein the transparent clear coat or the pigmented top coat includes the powder coating composition.
METHOD FOR MAKING POTS AND PANS, EQUIPPED WITH A MULTI-LAYER COATING OF NON-STICK MATERIAL
A method for making pots and pans, equipped with a multi-layer coating of non-stick material including the forming of multiple layers of coating of an inner surface of a wall delimiting a cooking cavity, performed by cyclical repetition of a step of applying suitable substances and subsequent drying and baking in an oven of said layers of substances applied, at least the final layer of said substances being obtained by using a non-stick substance. The method includes, before the step of applying the substance for forming at least the final layer coating the cooking cavity of the pot, a step of adding as an additive edible oil or grease to the liquid substance to be applied for forming said final layer.
Method of creating decorative artwork
A method of creating decorative artwork including providing a wall-mountable substrate having a paint-receiving upper surface and a wall-mounting surface opposite the paint-receiving upper surface, applying a first coat of resin to the paint-receiving upper surface, applying a metallic substance to the paint-receiving upper surface, and applying a sealer including a quantity of volatile organic compounds to the paint-receiving upper surface at a velocity sufficient to disperse at least one of the first coat of resin and the metallic substance in a plurality of directions with respect to the paint-receiving upper surface to create at least one decorative marking.
Coated oilfield operational components and methods for protecting and extending the service life of oilfield operational components
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.
Ultra-thin composite transparent conductive film and preparation method therefor
Disclosed is an ultra-thin composite transparent conductive film, including: a transparent substrate; a first UV glue layer disposed on one side of the transparent substrate, pattern-imprinted and cured to form a first grid-shaped groove, the first grid-shaped groove being filled with conductive materials to form a first conductive layer; a second UV glue layer disposed on one side of the first UV glue layer away from the transparent substrate to provide a reinforced insulating support layer; and a third UV glue layer disposed on one side of the second UV glue layer away from the transparent substrate, pattern-imprinted and cured to form a second grid-shaped groove, the second grid-shaped groove being filled with conductive materials to form a second conductive layer, where a thickness of the reinforced insulating support layer is in a range of 5-10 micrometers.
COATING SYSTEM FOR FIBER CEMENT ARTICLES
A coating system which provides a stain finish on a fiber cement building article. The coating system comprising a sealing agent, a basecoat and a topcoat, wherein the coating system is disposed on at least one surface of the fiber cement building article whereby the sealing agent is disposed adjacent to the at least one surface of the fiber cement building article, the basecoat is disposed on the sealing agent remote from the surface of the fiber cement building article and the topcoat is disposed on the basecoat remote from the fiber cement building article.
Water-based paint, ceramics, and method of decoration
Ceramics are capable of reducing color irregularities and uneven coating, hard to dissolve into glaze, and excellent in fixation. A water-based paint contains a coloring material, first cellulose nanofibers having a lignin content of 20 to 40 mass % and a water retention of 150 to 300%, and second cellulose nanofibers having a higher viscosity compared to the first cellulose nanofibers, and the water-based paint has a B-type viscosity of 600 cps or higher. Ceramic ware or glassware or the like having painting made on a green body of which surface is formed of silicic acid or silicate compound as a main component, with the water-based paint.
Self-sealing coating for fuel tanks
A method of forming a self-sealing fuel tank includes: providing a container including internal surfaces and external surfaces and configured to hold a fuel; forming a latex coating layer over at least a portion of the internal surfaces and/or external surfaces; depositing or encapsulating an environmental layer over at least a portion of the latex coating layer; where the latex coating layer swells when contacted with the fuel; and where the latex coating layer is formed from a latex coating composition that is substantially free of a non-ionic associative thickener.
