Oil soluble taggants
10866194 · 2020-12-15 · ·

A process for detecting oil or lubricant contamination in the production of an article by adding a Stokes-shifting taggant to an oil or lubricant of a machine utilized to produce the article or a component thereof, irradiating the articles produced with a first wavelength of radiation, and monitoring the articles for emission of radiation at a second wavelength. The taggant can be in the form of a composition containing a Stokes-shifting taggant, which absorbs radiation at a first wavelength and emits radiation at a second wavelength, different from said first wavelength, dissolved or dispersed in an oil or lubricant.

DETERMINING ORE CHARACTERISTICS

Techniques for processing ore include the steps of causing an imaging capture system to record a plurality of images of a stream of ore fragments en route from a first location in an ore processing facility to a second location in the ore processing facility; correlating the plurality of images of the stream of ore fragments with at least one or more characteristics of the ore fragments using a machine learning model that includes a plurality of ore parameter measurements associated with the one or more characteristics of the ore fragments; determining, based on the correlation, at least one of the one or more characteristics of the ore fragments; and generating, for display on a user computing device, data indicating the one or more characteristics of the ore fragments or data indicating an action or decision based on the one or more characteristics of the ore fragments.

Method for compositional sorting of catalyst or adsorbent in mixtures of catalysts and/or adsorbents

A method for separation of at least one catalyst or adsorbent from a homogeneous mixture of catalysts or adsorbents, used in a method for treatment of gas or hydrocarbon feedstock, in which the grains of catalysts or adsorbents are separated according to a sorting threshold corresponding to a content of the constituent element that is sought and defined by the user.

APPARATUS FOR IDENTIFYING SUBSTANCES

The invention relates to an apparatus for identifying one or more substances in a materialin particular, wherein the material is present in granulate formcomprising at least one light sourcepreferably in the form of a laserfor irradiating a sample of the material with light of at least one wavelength, a detector for detecting the light re-emitted and/or transmitted by the sample, and an analysis device for the spectroscopic analysis of the detected light, wherein

the analysis device interacts with the detector, and these are embodied in such a way for analyzing the detected light by means of a) UV/VIS spectroscopy and/or b) fluorescence spectroscopy and/or c) Raman spectroscopy and/or d) absorption spectroscopy,
and for creating a first identification result for at least one substance of the sample and, in the case of an ambiguous first identification result, creating a second identification result for the at least one substance on the basis of a e) fluorescence light decay time analysis, FLZA,
wherein the at least one substance is then at least partly identified on the basis of the first identification result or on the basis of the first and second identification results.

A system and method for detecting and separating mentholated tobacco from non-mentholated tobacco within a product stream is also provided.

Obtaining Cullet from Thin Film Solar Modules
20200282432 · 2020-09-10 ·

A method of obtaining cullet from a solar module unit is disclosed. The method involves providing a solar module unit in which a detectable tagging material has been applied onto an exposed outer surface of a glass substrate of the solar module unit over one or more electrically conductive contact strips located beneath and visible through the glass substrate. Thereafter, the solar module unit is crushed into assorted module pieces. The assorted module pieces are then sorted by detecting module pieces that include the detectable tagging material and separating the assorted module pieces into a collection of accepted module pieces and a collection of rejected module pieces. The collection of accepted module pieces has module pieces determined not to include the detectable tagging material. Recycled glass is then obtained from the collection of accepted module pieces.
