Method and Apparatus for Sorting
An apparatus for sorting and related methods are described and include acquiring a multiplicity of synchronized image signals of a product stream which is to be sorted; generating a multiplicity of fused sensor signals; forming an image model previously acquired from the objects to be sorted; identifying objects in the product stream, and generating object presence and defect signals; determining a spatial orientation of the objects in the product stream; detecting the defects and removing the defects from the product stream.
Vision and analog sensing scrap sorting system and method
A system and a method of sorting scrap particles is provided. A moving conveyor containing scrap particles is imaged using a vision system to create a vision image corresponding to a timed location of the conveyor, and is sensed using a sensing system to create a sensing matrix corresponding to the timed location. The sensing system has at least one array of analog proximity sensors. A control system analyzes the vision image as a vision matrix of cells, and generates a vision vector containing vision data from the vision matrix for the particle. The control system analyzes the sensing matrix, and generates a sensing data vector containing sensing data from the sensing matrix for the particle. The control system classifies the particle into one of at least two classifications of a material as a function of the vision data vector and the sensing data vector.
Blending of agricultural products via hyperspectral imaging and analysis
Provided is a method for blending of agricultural product utilizing hyperspectral imaging. At least one region along a sample of agricultural product is scanned using at least one light source of different wavelengths. Hyperspectral images are generated from the at least one region. A spectral fingerprint for the sample of agricultural product is formed from the hyperspectral images. A plurality of samples of agricultural product is blended based on the spectral fingerprints of the samples according to parameters determined by executing a blending algorithm.

A device for sorting spherical objects, the device comprising: a feeder for feeding the spherical objects; and a sorting plate comprising a receiving region for receiving the spherical objects and a sorting region comprising a good objects transferring region for transferring good spherical objects and a defective objects transferring region for transferring defective spherical objects.
Method for compositional sorting of catalyst or adsorbent in mixtures of catalysts and/or adsorbents
A method for separation of at least one catalyst or adsorbent from a homogeneous mixture of catalysts or adsorbents, used in a method for treatment of gas or hydrocarbon feedstock, in which the grains of catalysts or adsorbents are separated according to a sorting threshold corresponding to a content of the constituent element that is sought and defined by the user.
OPTICAL SORTER
An object of the present invention is to provide an optical sorter which enables to eliminate occurrence of welding distortion on a frame and simply attain high positional accuracy of component members attached to the frame. There is provided an optical sorter according to the present invention, comprising: a chute arranged to slope and to allow a raw material as objects to be sorted out to flow down; optical detection means for detecting the objects to be sorted out dropping from a lower end of the chute; ejector means for sorting out and excluding the objects to be sorted out on the basis of a detection result by the optical detection means; and a discharge hopper that separately discharges the objects sorted out by the ejector means, wherein further comprising a frame having a pair of right and left sidewalls which are screw-fixed to a base, the chute, the optical detection means, the ejector means and the discharge hopper are attached to the frame, and the sidewalls of the frame are coupled with braces in a diagonal shape.
SENSOR ASSEMBLY FOR MOVING ITEMS AND RELATED FILLING MACHINE AND METHODS
A sensor system for evaluating an item as it moves includes a sensor assembly including a plurality of emitters and a plurality of detectors disposed about an item movement path. A controller is configured for selectively operating the sensor assembly to set up a first active detection pattern through the item movement path by sequentially and rapidly checking an occlusion status of each of a first plurality of emitter to detector light paths that make up the first active detection pattern, such that only one emitter to detector light path of the first plurality of emitter to detector light paths is checked for occlusion at a given instance.
MENTHOL DETECTION ON TOBACCO
A method for detecting mentholated tobacco, comprising irradiating tobacco containing menthol and a fluorescent taggant with radiation and observing the tobacco for fluorescence from the taggant. A system and method for detecting and separating mentholated tobacco from non-mentholated tobacco within a product stream is also provided.
System for detecting, removing, transferring, and retrieving incompletely dried raw material
Disclosed herein is a system for detecting, removing, transferring and recovering an incompletely dried material. The system includes a transfer device transferring the material subjected to a drying process, a load cell measuring a weight of the material transferred through the transfer device, a material receiving unit receiving the measured material from the load cell when the weight of the measured material is higher than weights of other materials or a preset reference weight, a thermal imaging camera photographing the material received by the material receiving unit, an incompletely-dried-material determining unit acquiring temperature information of the material photographed by analyzing image data photographed by the thermal imaging camera, and determining whether the photographed material is an incompletely dried material based on the acquired temperature information, and an incompletely-dried-material receiving unit receiving the incompletely dried material from the material receiving unit.
