Can Seaming Apparatus
A can seaming apparatus including a frame, a can handling assembly, a can driving assembly and a seaming assembly. The can seaming apparatus is configured to seal a lid to a can through a double seam can seal. The can is positioned and clamped between an upper and a lower chuck. The can driving assembly spins the can and the upper and lower chucks about an axis. The seaming assembly includes two rollers which can selectively be directed to engage the can to form the necessary crimping operations.
Spring-loaded knockout pad
Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to seaming assembly for seaming a can lid onto a can body. In one example embodiment, a seaming assembly includes a chuck; and a knockout pad that is movable relative to said chuck in an axial direction of said chuck. The knockout pad includes a fastening element, and a holding element in a spring-loaded manner relative to the fastening element such that contact with the can lid is effected and established in a spring-loaded region.
DEVICE FOR EXTRACTING A STRAW FROM A CONTAINER
The invention relates to a device (30) for extracting a straw (100) from a container (1) closed by a lid (3) and presenting an orifice (17). The device (30) comprises: a stopper (37) suitable for being attached to and detached from the lid (3) in order to close and open the orifice (17); and a body (31) connected to the stopper (37) and suitable for being inserted inside the container (1) through the orifice (17), and including: an abutment (35) on which a corrugated portion (105) of the straw (100) is suitable for resting when the stopper (37) is attached to the orifice (17), and which is suitable for entraining said corrugated portion (105) while the stopper (37) is being detached in order to extract the straw (100) from the container (1) through the orifice (17); and at least one opening (34) through which the straw (100) can be disengaged from the device (30) when the stopper (37) is detached from the lid (3).
Concave Can End
A container can end includes a concave dome shape and may forgo a peripheral reinforcing bead around the center panel. The tab may also be curved. Tooling for forming the end and a corresponding method are provided.
DOUBLE SEAM MODIFICATION TOOLING APPARATUS AND DOUBLE SEAM MODFICATION PROCESS
The present application is directed to a double seam modification tooling apparatus for double seam modification and the double seam modification process. More particularly, a tooling apparatus for double seam modification is provided which adds a third modification operation to the first and second double seam operations which form the finished double seam, as well as a process for modifying double seams to include patterns of integral slots, notches or threads, or the like, after the double seams have been previously completely formed by the double seam modification tooling apparatus. Child resistant lids can then be configured with mating tab notches or tab threads to allow for opening or closing the lid when the tabs are properly aligned with the notches and threads on the can rim modified double seams.
Gas analyte spectrum sharpening and separation with multi-dimensional micro-GC for gas chromatography analysis
The disclosure describes embodiments of an apparatus including a first gas chromatograph including a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a first temperature control. A controller is coupled to the first temperature control and includes logic to apply a first temperature profile to the first temperature control to heat, cool, or both heat and cool the first gas chromatograph. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.
Method and apparatus for sealing a metallic container with a metallic end closure
An apparatus includes a tool operable to releasably join a metallic end closure to a metallic container. In one embodiment, the tool is configured to form a thread in the closure and the container. The tool may optionally crimp the closure to the container. Once sealed, the container can be opened by rotating the closure in an opening direction. The closure can subsequently re-close the container by rotating the closure in a closing direction.
