MULTIPLE PIECES CORE NOZZLE
20170036266 · 2017-02-09 ·

A metal delivery nozzle for a twin roll caster adapted to extend along and above a pair of casting rolls has a main portion with one or two refractory pieces with outlets adapted to deliver molten metal to a casting pool supported by the casting rolls during casting; refractory delivery end portions separately supported adapted to move relative to the main portion at each end portion of the metal delivery nozzle, each refractory delivery end portion having a reservoir portion with passages there through adapted to deliver molten metal to the casting pool adjacent the side dams and the end portions of the casting rolls; and a mechanism connected to each refractory delivery end portion adapted to move said refractory delivery end portion relative to the main portion as casting proceeds to maintain desired distance between the refractory delivery end portions and the side dams.

COOLING ROLL AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS OF AMORPHOUS ALLOY STRIP

A cooling roll includes flow channels piercing a side surface of the cooling roll in a rotation-axis direction. The flow channels are arranged at uniform spacing on two or more concentric circles having a rotation axis of the roll as a center. A manufacturing apparatus of an amorphous alloy strip includes the cooling roll. Thereby, the amorphous alloy strip having a large thickness can be manufactured in industrial scale.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SOLIDIFIED LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINIUM OR MAGNESIUM ALLOY
20250197968 · 2025-06-19 ·

A lightweight aluminium or magnesium alloy comprises aluminium or magnesium and one or more alloying elements, including dispersoid forming elements increasing the liquidus temperature of the alloy. The alloy is ejected in a molten state from at least one nozzle and is rapidly solidified. The lightweight alloy is produced from at least one lightweight metal based composition that comprises predominantly aluminium or magnesium. This composition is heated, in a first heating step, to a first temperature that is lower than the liquidus temperature of the alloy to produce a melt of the lightweight metal based composition that is supplied through a piping to the nozzle. In the piping, the lightweight alloy melt is heated to have a second temperature that is preferably higher than the liquidus temperature of the alloy. The first temperature reduces the tendency of magnesium to oxidize whilst the second temperature dissolves all of the alloying elements.

IMMERSION NOZZLE, MOLD, AND CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD OF STEEL

An immersion nozzle that supplies molten steel from a storage vessel for steel to a mold of a continuous casting machine in continuous casting of steel, in which an end of a main body of the nozzle to be immersed into the molten steel in the mold is closed, a pair of discharge ports having a central axis as a symmetry axis is provided in each of an upper and lower position of the main body of the nozzle to be immersed in the molten steel, and an area of an opening part of the lower discharge port is within 1.0 to 1.6 times, inclusive, of an area of an opening part of the upper discharge port.
