NOZZLE AND METHOD FOR FORMING MICRODROPLETS
The invention relates to a nozzle for producing microdroplets of metal using gas flow, to a nozzle for producing microdroplets using electrodispersion, to a combination of a melt spinner for forming elongate metal fibers with a nozzle and to a method of forming microdroplets using at least one of a gas flow and electrodispersion.
Iron nitride permanent magnet and technique for forming iron nitride permanent magnet
A permanent magnet may include a Fe.sub.16N.sub.2 phase constitution. In some examples, the permanent magnet may be formed by a technique that includes straining an iron wire or sheet comprising at least one iron crystal in a direction substantially parallel to a <001> crystal axis of the iron crystal; nitridizing the iron wire or sheet to form a nitridized iron wire or sheet; annealing the nitridized iron wire or sheet to form a Fe.sub.16N.sub.2 phase constitution in at least a portion of the nitridized iron wire or sheet; and pressing the nitridized iron wires and sheets to form bulk permanent magnet.
Device for casting electrode supports for lead-acid batteries
A device for casting electrode carriers for the production of lead grid electrodes in a continuous casting process is provided, which includes a casting drum, the surface of which has been engraved with the shape of the lead strip to be cast, and a casting shoe which rests on the outer circumference of the casting drum in the region of the horizontal axis drawn through the axis of rotation when the casting drum rotates counterclockwise, whereat the exiting liquid lead flows into the concave mold of the casting drum surface and is removable as a solidified lead strip at the lower vertex of the casting drum after three quarters of a rotation and whereat draft angles of less than 7 degrees, in particular less than 3 degrees are provided.
ROLLER CASTING METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING A SPIRAL STRUCTURE
The invention relates to a roller casting method for producing a spiral structure, in particular a spiral structure for use in electric machines. Molten metal is supplied between a first roller and a second roller miming opposite thereto, wherein the first roller has first teeth, and the second roller has second teeth, said first and/or second teeth having tooth flanks with cavities for receiving the supplied molten metal. The teeth are designed and aligned such that the cavity of at least one tooth is at least temporarily delimited by the surface of a tooth of the other roller when the rollers are rotating such that the supplied molten metal is molded between the teeth while cooling and is molded into a section of the spiral structure.
Release Agent-Free Aluminium Strip Casting
A casting roller or belt for a revolving chill mould of a strip casting system for the manufacture of an aluminium alloy strip and a strip casting system for manufacturing an aluminium alloy strip comprising at least one revolving chill mould with a casting gap. A method for manufacturing an aluminium alloy strip by means of a strip casting system. The object of providing a casting roller or belt or a strip casting system, by means of which, adhesion to the casting roller or belt is avoided during strip casting and a low-segregation and crack-free aluminium alloy strip can be produced, in particular under industrial conditions, is achieved by a specific surface structure, in that the surface of the casting roller or belt has a roughness value Sa of more than 5 μm and an average peak count RPc(0.5 μm) of less than 42 cm.sup.−1.
Process For In-Line Mechanically Scribing Of Amorphous Foil For Magnetic Domain Alignment And Core Loss Reduction
The invention relates to the reduction of core losses in soft magnetic applications utilizing amorphous foil as the core material. Amorphous foil is known to have lower losses when compared to crystalline silicon steel laminations. It is found that a reduction of 10-40% of losses can be achieved over the current state of the art amorphous material by mechanical scribing of the surface of the soft magnetic laminations comprising the wound core in power conditioning devices such as a transformer. The scribing process introduces control of the magnetic domains causing ease of magnetic flux reversal
Method for casting metal strip with edge control
Systems and apparatus for continuously casting thin strip where one or more expansion rings are positioned within at least one of a pair of casting rolls, and automatically measuring a thickness of the cast strip close to the first side edge of the strip using at least one sensor. If the thickness measured is too thin, automatically decreasing the radial dimension of the expansion ring arranged in close proximity to the first side edge to cause the cylindrical tube to contract and increase the thickness of the cast strip during casting. If the thickness measured indicates that the thickness of the cast strip is too thick, automatically increasing the radial dimension of the expansion ring arranged in close proximity to the first side edge to cause the cylindrical tube to expand and reduce the thickness of the cast strip during casting.
Slinger ring
A slinger, or slinger ring, for a melt spinning apparatus has a cylindrical, mechanically shaped main element that is composed of a refractory metal or a refractory metal-based alloy and has a circumferential surface running in a tangential direction. The circumferential surface is delimited in the axial direction by two end faces. A degree of deformation in the radial direction is greater than the degree of deformation in the axial direction.
Continuous caster roll having a spiral fluted axle
A roll for continuous casting comprises a cylindrical roll rotatably mounted on a fixed axle and said axle comprising a coolant inlet system and a coolant outlet system. A cooling chamber receives a flow of coolant. The coolant chamber is defined by the space between the interior of the cylindrical roll and the axle. Two overlapping spirals are formed onto the axle that creates a helical flow path from the coolant inlet system to the coolant outlet system.
