MOLTEN MATERIAL TREATMENT APPARATUS

Provided is a molten material treatment apparatus including: a container having an upper portion, on which a molten material injection part is disposed, and a bottom part in which a hole is formed; a gas injection part attached to the bottom part between the molten material injection part and the hole; a chamber part formed on the upper portion of the container so as to face the gas injection part and having an inside open downward; and a plurality of vertical members disposed so as to cross a plurality of positions of a rotary flow region formed between the chamber part and the bottom part, wherein an inclusion removal efficiency can be improved while maintaining the molten material surface by a method in which a plurality of mutually different rotary flows are generated in a plurality of sections within the rotary flow region and are partially overlapped.

Provided is a molten material treatment apparatus including: a container having an upper portion, on which a molten material injection part is disposed, and a bottom part in which a hole is formed; a gas injection part attached to the bottom part between the molten material injection part and the hole; a chamber part formed on the upper portion of the container so as to face the gas injection part and having an inside open downward; and a plurality of vertical members disposed so as to cross a plurality of positions of a rotary flow region formed between the chamber part and the bottom part, wherein an inclusion removal efficiency can be improved while maintaining the molten material surface by a method in which a plurality of mutually different rotary flows are generated in a plurality of sections within the rotary flow region and are partially overlapped.

Tundish for a continuous casting plant

A tundish, in particular a tundish for continuous steel casting for placement between a steel casting ladle and a continuous casting mold, with an inlet region and an outlet region, wherein in the inlet region, molten steel can be supplied in particular through a ladle shroud and in the outlet region, the molten steel can be drained from the tundish in particular by means of a plug and an outlet opening; in the vicinity of the inlet region in the tundish, a threshold or ramp is provided, which forms a region of the tundish bottom into a cup or tundish; the threshold or ramp has at least one channel at the side, which locally reduces the height of the threshold or ramp or breaks through the threshold.

Tundish for a continuous casting plant

A tundish, in particular a tundish for continuous steel casting for placement between a steel casting ladle and a continuous casting mold, with an inlet region and an outlet region, wherein in the inlet region, molten steel can be supplied in particular through a ladle shroud and in the outlet region, the molten steel can be drained from the tundish in particular by means of a plug and an outlet opening; in the vicinity of the inlet region in the tundish, a threshold or ramp is provided, which forms a region of the tundish bottom into a cup or tundish; the threshold or ramp has at least one channel at the side, which locally reduces the height of the threshold or ramp or breaks through the threshold.

Annular weir

An annular weir is fixed at a bottom of a tundish and just under a long nozzle of a ladle in a continuous casting apparatus. The annular weir includes a cavity which has a substantially circular shaped transverse section. The cavity includes: an upper side opening configured to receive a stream of molten metal from an upper side through the long nozzle; an inner protrusion which is annular in shape and which extends toward an inner side from an upper end of an inner wall of the cavity; a first space on an inner side of the inner protrusion; and a second space which communicates with the first space 13a and which is on a lower side of the first space.

Annular weir

An annular weir is fixed at a bottom of a tundish and just under a long nozzle of a ladle in a continuous casting apparatus. The annular weir includes a cavity which has a substantially circular shaped transverse section. The cavity includes: an upper side opening configured to receive a stream of molten metal from an upper side through the long nozzle; an inner protrusion which is annular in shape and which extends toward an inner side from an upper end of an inner wall of the cavity; a first space on an inner side of the inner protrusion; and a second space which communicates with the first space 13a and which is on a lower side of the first space.

Tundish outlet modifier

A refractory block configured to surround an outlet modifies, within a refractory vessel, the flow of molten metal passing through the outlet. The block takes the form of a base through which a main orifice passes, and a wall extending upwards around the periphery of the base. Structural features that may be included in the block include a circumferential lip around the exterior of the wall, an interior volume in which the radius decreases downwardly towards the main orifice in a plurality of steps, and flow openings in the wall that are configured to induce swirling in the flow pattern in the interior volume of the block.

Tundish outlet modifier

A refractory block configured to surround an outlet modifies, within a refractory vessel, the flow of molten metal passing through the outlet. The block takes the form of a base through which a main orifice passes, and a wall extending upwards around the periphery of the base. Structural features that may be included in the block include a circumferential lip around the exterior of the wall, an interior volume in which the radius decreases downwardly towards the main orifice in a plurality of steps, and flow openings in the wall that are configured to induce swirling in the flow pattern in the interior volume of the block.

CASTING EQUIPMENT AND CASTING METHOD USING SAME

Provided is casting equipment and a casting method using same. A casting method includes: preparing a tundish; injecting molten steel to the tundish; installing a vacuum forming member on an upper portion of the tundish to form vacuum in at least a partial area of an upper portion of a melting surface of molten steel accommodated in the tundish; forming a rotational flow by blowing a gas into the molten steel; and forming vacuum in at least a partial area of the upper portion of the melting surface of the molten steel. More particularly, the present disclosure may effectively remove inclusions in the molten steel and restrict reoxidation of the molten steel.
