Process for producing spheroidized powder from feedstock materials
Disclosed herein are embodiments of methods, devices, and assemblies for processing feedstock materials using microwave plasma processing. Specifically, the feedstock materials disclosed herein pertains to scrap materials, dehydrogenated or non-hydrogenated feed material, recycled used powder, and gas atomized powders. Microwave plasma processing can be used to spheroidize and remove contaminants. Advantageously, microwave plasma processed feedstock can be used in various applications such as additive manufacturing or powdered metallurgy (PM) applications that require high powder flowability.

A metal powder for additive manufacturing having a composition including the following elements, expressed in content by weight: 0.01%≤C≤0.2%, 4.6%≤Ti≤10%, (0.45×Ti)−0.22%≤B≤(0.45×Ti)+0.70%, S≤0.03%, P≤0.04%, N≤0.05%, O≤0.05% and optionally containing: Si≤1.5%, Mn≤3%, Al≤1.5%, Ni≤1%, Mo≤1%, Cr≤3%, Cu≤1%, Nb≤0.1%, V≤0.5% and including eutectic precipitates of TiB.sub.2 and Fe.sub.2B, the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities resulting from the elaboration, the volume percentage of TiB.sub.2 being equal or more than 10% and the mean bulk density of the powder being 7.50 g/cm.sup.3 or less. A manufacturing method by atomization is also provided.

Provided is a copper alloy powder which is a metal powder to be used for additive manufacturing by a laser beam system, and which is able to achieve a higher laser absorption rate and additionally suppress heat transfer through necking, and a method for producing this copper alloy powder. A copper alloy powder which contains one or more elements selected from among Cr, Zr and Nb in a total amount of 15 wt % or less, with a balance being made up of Cu and unavoidable impurities, and which is characterized in that a coating film containing Si atoms is formed on the copper alloy powder, and a Si concentration in the copper alloy powder with the coating film is 5 wt ppm or more and 700 wt ppm or less.

There is provided a cobalt-based alloy product comprising: in mass %, 0.08-0.25% C; 0.1% or less B; 10-30% Cr; 5% or less Fe and 30% or less Ni, the total amount of Fe and Ni being 30% or less; W and/or Mo, the total amount of W and Mo being 5-12%; 0.5% or less Si; 0.5% or less Mn; 0.003-0.04% N; 0.5 to 2 mass % of an M component being a transition metal other than W and Mo and having an atomic radius of more than 130 pm; and the balance being Co and impurities. The impurities include 0.5% or less Al and 0.04% or less O. The product is a polycrystalline body of matrix phase crystal grains. In the matrix phase crystal grains, segregation cells with an average size of 0.13-2 μm are formed, in which the M component is segregated in boundary regions of the segregation cells.
