A body of a cutting tool and a cutting insert which can further improve support stiffness of the cutting insert are provided.
A body of a cutting tool includes an insert seat provided on a leading end part of the body, a screw hole with which a fastening screw is screwed, a deep seat portion provided at a deep part in the insert seat in an axial direction of the screw hole, a receiving portion receiving a contact portion of the cutting insert, a wall portion having a base-end side rotation suppression portion which stops rotation of the cutting insert, and a shallow seat portion, the depth of a seat thereof being shallower than a part with the receiving portion, wherein the base-end side rotation suppression portion is positioned not to overlap the deep seat portion when viewed along a screw-hole axis.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool able to sufficiently supply coolant toward a cutting edge of a cutting insert during a cutting process involving grooving a workpiece face includes a first flow path through which coolant is supplied toward a body leading end side, a first jetting port, a second flow path branching at a branch point along the first flow path, a second jetting port, and a guide member having a guide surface distanced from the second jetting port and forming a space for coolant to flow to the cutting edge from the second jetting port. In the first flow path, a substantially straight upstream-of-branch flow path on further toward a base end side than the branch point is at least twice as long as a downstream-of-branch flow path from the first jetting port to the branch point. The second flow path inclines at a 30? to 85? angle to the upstream-of-branch flow path.
ROTARY CUTTING TOOL
A rotary cutting tool insert according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: an annular rake face provided with at least one recess portion; and a cutting edge formed at an outer circumference of the rake face, the recess portion having a width of more than or equal to 1.2 mm and less than or equal to 3.0 mm in a circumferential direction of the rake face, a distance between the cutting edge and an end of the recess portion at the outer circumference side of the rake face being more than or equal to 0.1 mm and less than or equal to 0.5 mm. According to the rotary cutting tool insert according to the one embodiment of the present invention, roughness of a processed surface and vibration due to a cutting process can be prevented.
CUTTING INSERT HAVING TWO PERIPHERAL ABUTMENT RIDGES AND CUTTING TOOL
A cutting insert includes an insert longitudinal axis defining a forward to rear direction, opposing insert inner and outer side surfaces and an insert peripheral surface extending therebetween. The insert peripheral surface includes an insert rear end surface and an adjacent insert lower surface. The cutting insert includes two spaced apart peripheral abutment ridges that are distal the insert outer side surface and extend along the insert rear end surface and the insert lower surface, respectively. The two peripheral abutment ridges converge towards each other at an acute insert wedge angle in a rearward direction of the cutting insert, away from a cutting edge.
CLAMP STRUCTURE OF CUTTING INSERT AND INDEXABLE CUTTING TOOL
A cutting insert has a surface to be pressed and a surface to be restrained. A supporter has a supporter main body, an elastically deformable gripping arm, a pocket, and a slit. The supporter main body has a restraining surface that comes into contact with the surface to be restrained. The gripping arm has a pressing surface that comes into contact with the surface to be pressed. The slit has a pocket opening that is open to the pocket. The pocket opening is disposed between the restraining surface and the pressing surface.
Tool holder for tangential cutting insert
In the case of a tool holder having a receptacle for a cutting insert, in particular a tangential cutting insert having eight lips, having a lateral bearing surface, a rear bearing surface and a bottom surface, the bottom surface is quadrangular in plan view and has a raised supporting region which has two supporting surfaces, positioned obliquely with respect to one another, for the cutting insert.
Clamping device and cutting tool
A clamping device is configured to clamp a cutting insert onto a holder of a cutting tool. The clamping device contains a clamping bolt and a locking bolt, wherein the clamping bolt is configured to be inserted into each of the cutting insert and the holder. The locking bolt is configured to be inserted into the holder, such that the locking bolt pre-strains the clamping bolt into clamping the cutting insert onto the holder. The clamping bolt is configured rotatable about a longitudinal clamping axis of the clamping bolt relative to each of the cutting insert and the locking bolt, such that the clamping bolt wedge engages with the locking bolt during a clamping bolt rotation about the longitudinal clamping axis.
Cutting crown mounting
A cutting crown fixing for positively locking and non-rotatable fixing of a cutting crown to a holder associated therewith of a comminuting apparatus, in particular a rotor of a comminuting apparatus, including a cutting crown, a cutting crown holder associated with the cutting crown, a screw bolt and a thread insert having a head portion and a shaft portion, wherein the thread insert has a female thread complementary to the male thread of the screw bolt and the cutting crown holder has a through passage for receiving the screw bolt, and in the installed position the thread insert is arranged in positively locking relationship in the axial and tangential direction in a holding opening of the cutting crown associated therewith. The cutting crown holder according to the invention is distinguished in that the positively locking configuration of a peripheral surface of the thread insert relative to the holding opening of the associated cutting crown extends over the entire longitudinal extent of the thread insert, wherein the thread insert is of a rotationally symmetrical configuration over the longitudinal extent of the head portion for providing an axial positively locking relationship with the holding opening and at least over a longitudinal portion has a conical peripheral surface which in the installed position corresponds to a conical receiving portion of complementary configuration of the holding opening and the thread insert in the region of the longitudinal extent of the shaft portion is of a non-rotationally symmetrical configuration for providing a rotational positively locking relationship with the holding opening.
Cutting tool and cutting insert having a deep blind opening
A non-indexable, one-sided cutting insert includes opposite insert side surfaces which define an insert width therebetween, opposite insert front and rear surfaces which extend between the insert side surfaces and define an insert depth therebetween and opposite insert top and bottom surfaces which extend between the insert side surfaces and the insert front and rear surfaces. The insert top and bottom surfaces define an insert height therebetween. The insert further includes a main cutting edge formed at an intersection between the insert top and front surfaces. A maximum value of the insert width is smaller than minimum value of the insert height, and a minimum value of the insert depth. The insert includes a deep opening which opens out only to the insert bottom surface and defines an opening depth. A depth ratio defined between the opening depth and the insert height is greater than 0.3.
Cutting tool and cutting insert having exactly three cutting portions therefor
In a cutting tool having an indexable cutting insert with three cutting portions, the cutting insert is removably securable to an insert holder by means of a fastener. The cutting insert has two opposing end surfaces with a peripheral side surface extending therebetween. At least one end surface has a central boss protruding therefrom with a raised support surface, and the peripheral side surface has three abutment recesses. In an end view of the cutting insert, each of the three abutment recesses is visible and located inside a first imaginary circle circumscribing the visible central boss. A holding portion of the insert holder has a seating surface with at least one protuberance protruding therefrom. The support surface is in clamping contact with the seating surface, and exactly two of the three abutment recesses are engaged with the at least one protuberance.
