Portable boring machine
A feed assembly, a boring head and an alignment device. The feed assembly may include a feed mechanism; an adjustment mechanism to adjust a feed rate of the feed mechanism; and a gage to indicate the feed rate. The boring head may include a body supportable on and for rotation with the bar; and a tool holder to support a tool to work on a workpiece and supported for radial movement on the body to adjust a radial position of the tool. An alignment device may include a clamp lockable in an axial position on the bar; an alignment member engageable with a bore of a workpiece; and an adjustment member between the locking clamp and the alignment member, the adjustment member and the alignment member include complementary threads, the adjustment member being rotatable about the axis to move the alignment member relative to the clamp along the axis.
METAL CUTTING TOOL WITH COOLANT SUPPLY
A metal cutting tool includes a main tool body and a slider element received at least partially in the main tool body and arranged movably relative. The slider element has a cutting edge or supports a cutting insert having a cutting edge. An internal coolant supply is arranged to supply coolant from the main tool body to the cutting edge and has a coolant channel running within the main tool body and within the slider element. The main tool body, or a transfer element that has the coolant channel being part of the internal coolant supply and connected with the main tool body, includes a first sealing surface on which an outlet of the coolant channel of the main tool body is arranged. The slider element, or the transfer element, includes a second sealing surface on which an inlet of the coolant channel of the slider element is arranged.
Cutting edge position adjustment mechanism and cutting edge-replaceable cutting tool
Provided is a cutting edge position adjustment mechanism for moving a cutting edge member mounted on a tool body with respect to the tool body to adjust the position of a cutting edge. The cutting edge position adjustment mechanism is equipped with a shaft member that extends between the tool body and the cutting edge member and threadably engages with the tool body and a nut member that threadably engages with the shaft member and abuts against the cutting edge member; a first screw section that threadably engages with the tool body and a second screw section that threadably engages with the nut member are provided coaxially on the shaft member at different positions along the direction of an axis line of the shaft member; and the thread pitch of the first screw section and the thread pitch of the second screw section are different from each other.
BORING HEAD AND BORING TOOL ASSEMBLY
A boring head arranged for holding a boring tool for metal cutting includes a main body having a support surface and a scale surface. The boring head further includes a piston including a boring tool interface for fixedly carrying the boring tool. The piston is movably arranged in the main body along the positioning axis (y), and a micrometer screw. The micrometer screw is arranged in the main body and coupled to the piston, such that, when the micrometer screw is rotated, the piston is moved along the positioning axis to one of the protracted positions or the retracted position. The micrometer screw has a head abutting against the support surface. The head includes a radially outer head surface provided with first graduation marks. The scale surface is provided with second graduation marks aligned with the first graduation marks to provide a reading of the axial position of the piston.
