Clamping assembly, a toolholder assembly comprising a clamping assembly and a toolholder, and a method of changing a toolholder in a toolholder assembly
A clamping assembly includes a base member having an internal bore, a lock rod within the internal bore of the base member and moveable in a forward direction and rearward direction between an unlocked position and a locked position, a crank wheel having an axis of rotation, and a linkage coupled to the lock rod and coupled to the crank wheel at a position radially offset from the axis of rotation of the crank wheel.
Multi-size tool bit holder for a rotary power tool
A multi-size tool bit holder includes a first sleeve having a first bit holding bore extending along an axis, and a second sleeve coupled for co-rotation with the first sleeve and movable relative to the first sleeve between a first position and a second position. The second sleeve includes a second bit holding bore. A first bit shank of a first nominal size is insertable into the first bit holding bore when the second sleeve is in the second position to secure the first bit shank within the first sleeve. A second bit shank of a second nominal size different than the first nominal size is insertable into the second bit holding bore when the second sleeve is in the first position to secure the second bit shank within the second sleeve.
Tool Connector
The tool connector includes a socket having a receiving space and a through hole communicating the receiving space, a sliding member slidably received in the receiving space, a positioning member received in the receiving space, and a hook member. A funnel-shaped opening is formed at an end of the receiving space. The sliding member is connected to the socket with an end via a first elastic member, and the other end is for a tool bit to abut against. The positioning member is selectively inserted into the through hole. An end of the hook member is connected to the sliding member, and the other end has a hook portion for grasp the tool bit. When the positioning member is moved inward and the sliding member is moved toward the funnel-shaped opening, the hook portion is swingable in the funnel-shaped opening to release the tool bit.
Interlocking Collet System For A Surgical Device
An interlocking collet system includes an attachment comprising first and second attachment surfaces spaced from one another and a collet. The collet comprises a housing configured to extend along an axis. The housing defines a bore for selectively disposing and retaining the attachment therein in an installed position. First and second locking members are disposed within the bore and are moveable. At least one bias member is disposed within the bore and is arranged to position the first locking member in a first position in which the first locking member is configured to contact the first attachment surface. The at least one bias member is arranged to position the second locking member in a second position in which the second locking member is configured to contact the second attachment surface. The first and second locking members are configured to exert opposing axial forces on the attachment.
SURGICAL GRIP WITH AN INTERNAL AND SPRING-BIASED ROTATION SECURING UNIT
A surgical grip for receiving a handpiece shaft for conjoint rotation therewith and/or for receiving a medical tool in such a way as to transmit torque, includes a carrier sleeve on which at least one coupling component provided for coupling the handpiece shaft is attached such that the at least one coupling component can be brought to a coupled position and to an uncoupled position in the operating state, wherein the at least one coupling component can be brought into contact with an activation unit which is arranged between the carrier sleeve and to an outer actuation sleeve, wherein a rotation securing unit present inside the actuation sleeve acts on the activation unit in a spring-biased manner in the operating state such that the activation unit is held secure against rotation relative to the carrier sleeve.
Quick-connect chuck mechanism for screwdriver bits and the like
A bit holder has a shank at a proximal end thereof and a blind bit-accepting hole at a distal end thereof, shaped to receive a correspondingly-shaped tool bit. The bit holder has at least one locking mechanism comprising an opening defined in the bit holder, opening into a side of the bit-accepting hole. A locking element in the opening is moveable towards the opening to contact a tool bit in the bit-accepting hole. The bit holder has a sleeve around a body portion of the bit holder, overlying the opening and biased by a spring towards a normal position. The sleeve has an internal ramp angled to contact the locking element to urge the locking element towards the tool bit as the sleeve is moved into the normal position, and to accommodate the locking element when the sleeve is moved from the normal position against the force of the spring.
Multiple connection drive shaft
Disclosed is a system to engage a plurality of tools. In the system a drive shaft and collet may be assembled to engage and disengage, selectively, a plurality of tools. User selection may allow use of a plurality of tools during a procedure or during a plurality of procedures.
Tool bit assemblies
A tool bit assembly can include a housing comprising a channel at least partially extending into the housing, one or more interacting features in the channel, and a shaft configured to fit within a drill chuck to allow a drill to turn the shaft. The shaft can be at least partially disposed within the channel to rotate and slide relative to the housing. The shaft can include a striking structure configured to interact with the one or more interacting features in the channel to cause the housing to actuate linearly relative to the shaft if the shaft is rotated relative to the housing and the striking structure is positioned to interact with the one or more interacting features.
Tool bit holder
A tool bit holder includes an inner sleeve in which a longitudinal bore is defined in which a tool bit is receivable and a detent is engageable with the tool bit for locking the tool bit within the longitudinal bore. An outer sleeve surrounds the inner sleeve and is movable relative to the inner sleeve between a locking position, in which the detent is engaged with the tool bit for locking the tool bit within the longitudinal bore, and a release position, in which the detent may be disengaged from the tool bit to permit removal of the tool bit from the longitudinal bore. A spring is positioned between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve. The spring biases the outer sleeve toward the locking position.
