CUTTING TOOL AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool comprises a shank having an insertion portion protruding from a shank main body, a head in which an insertion hole into which the insertion portion is inserted is formed, and a spacer disposed in a gap between the shank main body and the head. The insertion portion has a tapered outer circumferential surface which gradually decreases in diameter from the other side toward one side in the axial direction. The insertion hole has a tapered inner circumferential surface coming into surface contact with the tapered outer circumferential surface. A head end surface of the head which faces the other side in the axial direction comes into surface contact with a surface facing one side in the axial direction of the spacer.
IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO MOUNTING SYSTEMS
Mounting systems for connection to a surgical device, kits including those and the surgical devices and methods of use are disclosed. The mounting system comprising; an elongate body having a proximal end and a distal end; an outer sleeve being provided towards the distal end of the elongate body, the outer sleeve defining an internal bore; an inner element with a distal end facing the internal bore, the inner element providing one or more arms that extend from the distal end of the inner element into the bore, the one or more arms being spaced from the outer sleeve to define a gap between a side of one or more of the arms and the outer sleeve, the inner element at least partially defining a second bore; a locking element slidably provided in the second bore, the locking element having a first state where the locking element is provided in a first position adjacent to a distal portion of one or more of the arms and a second state where the locking element is retracted from the first position adjacent to a distal portion of one or more of the arms.
Power milling machine
A milling apparatus has a housing, a drive shaft extending along and rotatable about an axis in the housing and an axially compressible and radially expansible washer stack on the front end of the drive shaft. A tool is held by the on the shaft. A bolt projects radially in a slot through the shaft and is limitedly axially displaceable in the shaft. An actuator element shiftable axially in the passage projects axially forward out of the drive shaft and is fixed in the bolt. A clamping assembly axially compresses and radially expands the stack so as to lock the tool to the drive shaft. A spring assembly is braced axially forward against the housing and axially rearward against the bolt. A piston axially displaceable on the drive shaft in the housing bears axially forward on the bolt.
TOOL HOLDING FIXTURE
The invention relates to a tool holding fixture (1) for rotationally driven tools (2), said tool holding fixture comprising a rotationally symmetrical holding body (3) which has a front clamping region (4) having a receiving opening (5) for a tool shank (6) of the tool (2), and a rear holding region (7) to be held in a work spindle of a machine tool. In order to achieve a reduced mass, a lower mass moment of inertia and at the same time high stiffness, a sleeve (11), made of a fiber reinforced plastic, is disposed in at least the front clamping region (4).
Control system for grinding apparatus
A grinding apparatus for grinding working tips of hard metal inserts of rock drill bits, including a grinding machine, means for holding a rock drill bit to be ground and a support system. The grinding apparatus is equipped with a spindle assembly having an output drive shaft. One of a plurality of grinding tool cups is detachably connected to the output drive shaft for grinding the working tips. The grinding apparatus further includes a control system having a programmable operator control panel capable of monitoring and adjusting one or more operational parameters An RFID reader is provided within operator control panel such that when the free end of a grinding cup equipped with an RFID tag is inserted into the RFID reader a proximity sensor detects and scans the RFID tag, to obtain data including a specific ID identifier for the particular grinding cup and the number of grinding cycles used.
