HYDROSTATICALLY ACTUATED WORKHOLDING APPARATUS
20210170500 · 2021-06-10 ·

A workholder with a sleeve carried by a body and providing at least in part a circumferentially continuous fluid chamber between them and at least two circumferentially spaced apart locators carried by the body axially over the sleeve and projecting radially of the sleeve. A pressurized fluid in the chamber can change the diameter of the sleeve to move the locators generally radially relative to the body into firm engagement with a workpiece so that it is carried by the workholder. The locators may be received in part in a collar received at least in part axially over the sleeve with a portion of each locator projecting radially of the collar.

Tool holder and clamping system

A tool holder with a main part, a deformable receiving portion for clamping a tool, and at least one blocking element which is designed to engage into a corresponding counter element on the tool in order to prevent the tool from moving axially out of the tool holder. The at least one blocking element is integrally formed with the receiving portion. A clamping system having such a tool holder and a method for producing a receiving portion for such a tool holder are also described.

SUCTION DEVICE HAVING BLADES, AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
20210114153 · 2021-04-22 · ·

The invention relates to a suction device for suctioning off wood chips and/or dust generated during the cutting machining of a workpiece, in particular for a chuck (10) for receiving a rotationally driven cutting tool (12), particularly a cutting tool for machining CFK materials or other short-chipping materials, comprising a hub portion (14) that can be rotationally driven, which supports a plurality of radial blades (16) that are evenly distributed in a circumferential direction. In each case, a blade entering edge (20) of the blade (16) extends axially away from the hub portion (14) and radially outwards to a ring portion (18) that stabilizes the blades (16) and is concentric with respect to the hub portion (14). The invention further relates to a production method for producing the suction device.

JIG SYSTEM WITH HYDRAULIC EXPANSION CLAMP MECHANISM

A jig system with hydraulic expansion clamp mechanism for clamping a work piece includes a plate that is manufactured integrally as one piece using three-dimensional printing. The plate is formed with an expansion chamber that is defined by a surrounding wall for allowing the work piece to extend therethrough, an inlet that is fluidly connected to a hydraulic source that supplies pressurized fluid, and a passage that is fluidly connected to the inlet and the expansion chamber. When pressurized fluid is supplied into the passage from the inlet, the expansion chamber is caused to expand and move the surrounding wail inwardly into contact with the work piece.

Adapter sleeve

An improved adapter sleeve is submitted which has a shank for insertion into a toolholder for a machine tool, wherein a tool socket for holding a tool is formed in the shank, wherein a number of slots are disposed along the shank so that the shank can be compressed during clamping, wherein a cutting head is formed which is arranged on a front side (F) of the shank. In one embodiment, the cutting head has an insert seat for a cutting insert.

Method and apparatus for retaining a tool in a tool holder

Tool holder has a first section adapted to be connected to a machining center and a tool holding section comprising a bore with a surface defining an inner diameter of the bore. Dispersed around the surface of the bore and at least partially embedded in the surface of the bore is a joining compound having a Young's modulus greater than a Young's modulus of the surface of the bore.

Chuck device

A chuck device that allows easy attachment of a clamping target component and can provide powerful and highly reliable clamping includes a main body including a metal core part and an annular space coaxial with and formed around the metal core part; a rubber elastic body fitted in the annular space of the main body such that there is a pressure chamber between a circumferential wall that defines the annular space and the rubber elastic body, and a clearance for allowing a tubular clamping target component to be inserted between the rubber elastic body and the metal core part; and a passage for introducing a fluid to the pressure chamber, wherein the rubber elastic body is deformed to expand toward the metal core part by a pressure of a fluid introduced to the pressure chamber via the passage so that a tubular clamping target component that is attached to the metal core part is clamped by the metal core part and the rubber elastic body that has deformed to expand.

COMBINATION TOOL AND TOOL HOLDER FOR A COMBINATION TOOL
20200406371 · 2020-12-31 ·

A combination tool including a tool holder that extends along a tool rotational axis that defines an axial extension, an inner cutting tool for machining a first, central hole region and an outer, sleeve-shaped cutting tool for machining a second hole region radially outwards relative to the first hole region.

CLAMPING MECHANISM FOR HYDRAULIC WORK SUPPORT

A work support and method of clamping a translatable component of a hydraulic work support system. The work support may include a rigid, hollow slotted collet, a sleeve, and the translatable component, such as a plunger or rod. Hydraulic fluid may be pumped into an inlet of the hydraulic work support system to hydraulically actuate the translatable component outward from a first retracted position to a second extended position. The hydraulic fluid may further be pumped to the sleeve at a sufficient pressure that the sleeve presses against the collet. The collet responds thereto by flexing into contact with the translatable component, thus holding the translatable component in the second extended position. The slots in the collet allow for flexure even when using a thicker material with stronger column strength.

20200406370 · 2020-12-31 ·

The invention relates to a sealing piston, which is designed for use in a hydraulic expansion chucking device. The sealing piston comprises a pin that extends in an axial direction (A), and a seal that adjoins the pin and likewise extends in said axial direction (A). The seal comprises a sealing shaft that adjoins the pin and has a shaft radius (Rs). The seal further comprises a sealing head that adjoins the sealing shaft, wherein the sealing head comprises a circumferential sealing lip, which has a sealing radius (Rd) that is greater than the shaft radius (Rs).
