The link unit includes at least one output element, at least one link element, at least one contact surface, and at least one further contact surface. The at least one contact surface is disposed at least partially on the at least one output element. The at least one link element is configured to act in combination with the at least one output element via the at least one contact surface. The at least one further contact surface is configured to generate a force that initiates the reciprocating motion, and is disposed at least partially on the at least one output element.
RECIPROCATING SAW
A reciprocating saw includes a housing assembly, a motor, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a gear coupled to and driven by a pinion of the motor for rotation about a first axis. The gear is vertically-oriented within the housing assembly and has an outer periphery. The drive mechanism also includes a spindle reciprocatable relative to the housing assembly, a connecting rod having a first end coupled to the gear and a second end coupled to the spindle to transmit rotation of the gear into reciprocation of the spindle, and a counterweight rotatably coupled to the housing assembly for rotation about the first axis within the outer periphery of the gear. The counterweight is also coupled to the first end of the connecting rod such that the counterweight is moved in a substantially opposite direction than the spindle to counterbalance reciprocation of the spindle.
Reciprocating saw
A reciprocating saw includes a housing assembly and a motor positioned substantially within the housing assembly. The motor includes a pinion. A drive mechanism is positioned substantially within the housing assembly and includes a gear driven by the pinion, a spindle, and a connecting rod to transmit rotation of the gear into reciprocation of the spindle. A bushing is positioned substantially within the housing assembly about at least a portion of the spindle. The bushing is pivotable relative to the housing assembly to accommodate non-linear rocking motion of the spindle. A seal surrounds a portion of the bushing and includes a first lip extending radially from the bushing and a second lip spaced apart from the first lip and extending radially from the bushing. The second lip is movable relative to the first lip. Both the first lip and the second lip continuously engage the housing assembly when the bushing pivots relative to the housing assembly.
Reciprocating tool having orbit function
A reciprocating power tool may include a driving system including a motor and a transmission received in a housing to drive a reciprocating mechanism. A selection mechanism may provide for selection of an operation mode of the reciprocating tool, including a linear mode of operation and at least one orbital mode of operation. Motion of a reciprocating shaft of the reciprocating mechanism may be guided by a guide bracket that is fixed in the housing and an orbit bushing that is movably coupled in the housing. In the linear mode of operation of the tool, the bushing is in a first position relative to the guide bracket. In an orbital mode of operation of the tool, the bushing is moved to a second position relative to the guide bracket.
Counterbalancing mechanism and power tool having same
A reciprocating power tool may include a driving system including a motor and a transmission received in a housing to drive a reciprocating mechanism. A counterbalance mechanism may be coupled between the driving system and the reciprocating mechanism. The counterbalance mechanism may include a rotating counterbalance mechanism including a first rotating counterweight member and a second rotating counterweight member coupled to an output gear of the driving system. The counterbalance mechanism may include a rocking counterweight member coupled between the output gear and the housing. The output gear may include a recessed portion in which the first rotating counterweight member and a clutching system are received.
Reciprocating tool having offset spur gear and counterweighting assembly
A reciprocating power tool includes a transmission that converts rotational force from a motor to linear forces output by a reciprocating device and a counterbalancing device. The transmission is a parallel axis transmission including a first gear portion and a second gear portion formed on a gear shaft, with the first gear portion and the second gear portion rotating together about a first rotational axis. The first gear portion rotates a first output gear and the second gear portion rotates a second output gear about a second rotational axis that is parallel to and offset from the first rotational axis. The first output gear drives the reciprocating device and the second output gear drives the counterbalancing device. The reciprocating device reciprocates linearly and the counterbalancing devices performs a linear reciprocating movement that is opposite that of the reciprocating device to counterbalance forces generated by operation of the reciprocating device.
RECIPROCATING CUTTING TOOL
A reciprocating cutting tool includes a blade attachment to which a blade is detachably attachable. The blade attachment is reciprocable. The blade attachment includes a first pressing member movable toward or away from the blade to press the blade, a first urging member that urges the first pressing member, a second pressing member that can press the blade in a direction different from a direction in which the first pressing member presses the blade, and a second urging member that urges the second pressing member. The first pressing member automatically presses the blade when the second pressing member is pushed by the blade. The first urging member is located to avoid being in a moving direction of the first pressing member.
