A wire electrical discharge machine includes: a mounting table having a placement plane on which a workpiece can be placed; a first guide portion and a second guide portion for stretching a wire electrode therebetween. The first guide portion is integrally equipped with a probe. The relative position in the placement plane between the probe detecting its abutment with the workpiece and the first guide portion before moving the relative position between the first guide portion and the second guide portion is stored as an offset. This offset is corrected based on the tilt information indicating the tilt state of the workpiece relative to the placement plane. Thus, it is possible to obtain the corrected offset in accordance with the tilt state of the workpiece after changing the relative position between the first guide portion and the second guide portion.

Provided is a wire electric discharge machine which processes a workpiece by applying prescribed pulse power between a traveling wire electrode and the workpiece, wherein in the machine: a working liquid is supplied to nozzles, which jet the working liquid in the traveling direction of the wire electrode, by means of supply pumps by adhering, to the workpiece, the nozzles; the supply pumps are controlled through constant pressure control for controlling the pressure of the working liquid supplied to the nozzles to a prescribed constant pressure; the frequency of a current is measured, the current being supplied to the supply pumps, which supply the working liquid to the nozzles, by moving the workpiece to the wire electrode in a traverse direction of the traveling direction of the wire electrode; and the supply pump control is switched from the constant pressure control to a constant flow rate control, for supplying the working liquid of a constant flow rate to the nozzles, when the measured frequency exceeds a threshold frequency.

The mechanism includes a processing fluid bath configured to store processing fluid used for electrical discharge machining between the workpiece and the wire, a processing fluid supply port to communicate with the processing fluid bath and supply the processing fluid into the processing fluid bath from a processing fluid supply apparatus supplying the processing fluid, and a stream control mechanism to suppress a stream of the processing fluid supplied from the processing fluid supply port into the processing fluid bath in the direction of the water surface of the processing fluid in the processing fluid bath.
