This invention relates to a container pre-cutting system, applicable to container forming machines (4) with laminar material (3) that provide intermittent advances to the laminar material with a length according to an advance step of the machine; said system being suitable for making a lower pre-cut (32) on the lower surface and an upper pre-cut (32) on the upper surface of the laminar material (3). The system comprises a lower pre-cutting device (1) by laser, with at least one laser head (15), and an upper pre-cutting device (2) by blade or by laser. The pre-cutting devices (1, 2) are separated in the advance direction of the laminar material (3) by a length equal to a multiple of the advance step of the machine.

The electronic control unit controls the movement of the movable device between an active and a passive position so that that the movable device is in passive position when the cutting head is performing cutting operations generating swarf, letting such swarf to fall inside the cavity, and is in active position when the cutting head is performing cutting operations to detach pieces from the laminar material skeleton, to collect the pieces separately from the swarf and the skeleton.

Various embodiments of the disclosure combine punching of components from sheet material with a scoring process that outlines the components prior to the punching operation. In addition, a system and process where the scored portion of the sheet material that includes the scored outline is subjected to a high compression flattening process prior to the punching operation is disclosed. Performing the flattening operation prior to the punching operation has the effect of streamlining the process. That is, the sheet material can be easily handled and conveyed from the scoring process, through the flattening process, and to the punching process without need for separate handling of the component.

An ear portion 1b is separated from an electrode portion 1a with a first laser beam L1 in an ear portion separating region provided in the middle of movement of the original sheet 1, is taken up at a position where the ear portion 1b is separated, in a direction separated from a running direction of the electrode portion 1a, and the laser beam L1 is moved in the ear portion separating step to cut out a tab 5 connected to the electrode portion 1a, from the ear portion 1b. Thereafter, in the next cutting region, while tension T in the running direction of the electrode portion 1a is applied to a cut portion of the electrode portion 1a, the electrode portion 1a is cut at a predetermined interval with a second laser beam L2 to continuously form an electrode sheet 3 with the tab 5. Thereafter, the electrode sheet 3 with the tab 5 and the separated ear portion 1b are collected.
