A blue laser system and operation for welding conductive elements, and in particular thin conductive elements, together for use in energy storage devices, such as battery packs.
Apparatus for multi-nozzle metal additive manufacturing
An assembly for rapid manufacturing of symmetrical objects by direct metal deposition is disclosed. A rotary stage provides rotational movement to an object supported by the stage around a central stage axis. Nozzles are spaced above the rotary stage for performing direct metal deposition for building an object supported by the stage. Each nozzle is independently moveable along a horizontal axis and independently pivotable, and combined, moveable along a vertical axis for providing symmetrical movement corresponding to a symmetrical deposition configuration of the object while the object is rotated around the central stage axis.
APPARATUS FOR REMOVING AT LEAST ONE PORTION OF AT LEAST ONE COATING SYSTEM PRESENTING A MULTI-GLAZED WINDOW AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
An apparatus for removing a portion of a coating system present in a multi-glazed window including: a decoating component to focus a laser source at a focus distance; two motors to move the decoating component along the X and Y axis; one optical system to detect on which interface the coating system is localized, and to estimate a distance between the decoating component and the detected interface; a third motor to control the position of the decoating component along a Z axis; and a displacement control unit of the third motor to displace the decoating component of a displacement distance equal to the difference between the estimated distance and said the distance in order to focus the decoating component on the detected interface.
LASER INSCRIPTION FOR GEMSTONES
Systems and methods here may be used for a laser inscriber or engraver of a gemstone using software feedback loops and multiple cameras to auto focus the system and automate the inscription.
OPTICAL FIBER AND LASER PROCESSING MACHINE
A process fiber including a core extending along a central axis and a clad covering a circumference of the core includes an outer edge portion constituting an outer edge of a core cross section obtained by vertically cutting the core. The outer edge portion includes seven sides and seven corner portions respectively connecting the sides adjacent to each other. Each of the corner portions has an R shape along a circumscribed circle circumscribed to the outer edge portion. When a diameter of the circumscribed circle is O, a diameter of an inscribed circle inscribed to the outer edge portion is I, and the number of the corner portions is n (n is an odd number), a diameter ratio α, which is a ratio between the diameter O of the circumscribed circle and the diameter I of the inscribed circle, fulfills a predetermined condition.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING ADDITIVELY-MANUFACTURED ARTICLE, AND ADDITIVELY-MANUFACTURED ARTICLE
A method for producing an additively-manufactured article includes: a step for feeding a powdered material onto a base metal, the powdered material being obtained by mixing a first powder containing a stellite alloy and a second powder containing tungsten carbide; a nd a step for irradiating the fed powdered material with a laser beam while weaving the lase r beam, and depositing a cladding layer, obtained by melting and solidifying at least the pow dered material, on the base metal. The step for depositing the cladding layer is performed such that 20≤A≤35, 2.2≤B≤2.9, and 5 mass%≤R2≤15 mass% are satisfied, where A is a laser heat input index, B is a powder feeding rate index, and R2 is the ratio of the second powder contained in the powdered material.
Laser light radiation device and laser light radiation method
A laser machining device includes a laser light source, a spatial light modulator which includes a display unit, an objective lens, an image-transfer optical system, a camera and a controller. The controller executes first display processing and second display processing. According to first display processing, when the camera captures the image, the display unit displays a first phase pattern for adjusting a condensing position of laser light condensed by the objective lens to a first condensing position. According to second display processing, when the camera captures the image, the display unit displays a second phase pattern for adjusting the condensing position of the laser light condensed by the objective lens to a second condensing position different from the first condensing position in an irradiation direction of the laser light.
Mechanical System For High Positional Computer Numerically Controlled Applications
Disclosed embodiments include a gantry assembly that has (i) a moveable carriage with a laser head affixed thereto and (ii) two sides (moveable subassemblies) that are connected by a joining subassembly. One side of the gantry has two motors: (i) a first motor (x-axis motor) that moves the carriage along a first axis (x-axis) between the two sides of the gantry, and (ii) a second motor (y-axis motor) that moves the gantry along a second axis (y-axis) perpendicular to the first axis. In some embodiments, the gantry assembly also includes a drive shaft (or alternative drive mechanism) operated by the second motor (y-axis motor) to facilitate movement of the two sides of the gantry together along the second axis (y-axis).
HYBRID MATERIAL PROCESSING METHOD AND SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a hybrid material processing method includes steps of: emitting a laser beam toward an intended-to-be-modified area intended on a workpiece by a laser to perform a property modification for the intended-to-be-modified area; applying an optical image positioning assisted equipment to perform a precise positioning for a modified area or a positioning marker on the workpiece, so as to align a machine tool to the modified area; and driving the machine tool to perform a processing for the modified area.
