HYBRID ARTICLE, METHOD FOR FORMING HYBRID ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR WELDING
A hybrid article is disclosed including a sintered coating disposed on and circumscribing the lateral surface of a core having a core material and a greater density than the sintered coating. The sintered coating includes more than about 95% up to about 99.5% of a first metallic particulate material including a first melting point, and from about 0.5% up to about 5% of a second metallic particulate material having a second melting point lower than the first melting point. A method for forming the hybrid article is disclosed including disposing the core in a die, introducing a slurry having the metallic particulate materials into a gap between the lateral surface and the die, and sintering the slurry. A method for welding a workpiece is disclosed including the hybrid article serving as a weld filler.
Flux-cored brazing preform
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to flux-cored brazing consumables and preforms which have at least one protrusion which extends from an outer surface of the consumable such that the protrusion engages with a surface of a component to be brazed. The protrusion aids in securing the brazing consumable in position during manufacture, assembly and transport of an assembly to be brazed, prior to a brazing operation.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPONENT STRUCTURE WITH IMPROVED JOINT PROPERTIES, AND COMPONENT STRUCTURE
A method for producing a component structure from a first component and a second component may involve connecting the first component to the second component by way of a thermal joining process. The component structure has good crash properties, has good vibration resistance, has a lightweight construction, and is produced cost-effectively at least in part because the first component being a steel composite structure comprising a softer layer and a more-rigid layer. The softer layer may have a lower material strength and a higher deformability than the more-rigid layer. A part of a joint zone that is located in the first component may be formed at least partially in the relatively soft layer.
Method and system for additive manufacturing using high energy source and hot-wire
A method and system to manufacture workpieces employing a high intensity energy source to create a puddle and at least one resistively heated wire which is heated to at or near its melting temperature and deposited into the puddle as droplets.
Abrasive preforms and manufacture and use methods
A method for applying an abrasive comprises: applying, to a substrate, the integral combination of: a self-braze material; and an abrasive embedded in the self-braze material; and securing the combination to the substrate.
COVERED FLUX AND COVERED ELECTRODE
The present invention provides the following: a covered flux which has a low chromium content and which can improve the fatigue strength of a weld in additional welding; and a covered electrode. The covered flux used for a covered electrode has a composition that contains, relative to the total mass of the covered flux, 35-55 mass % of a metal carbonate (in terms of CO2), 10-30 mass % of a metal fluoride (in terms of F), and 8.5-20 mass % of Mn and/or 7.5-20 mass % of Ni. In addition, the covered electrode is obtained by coating an iron-based core wire with this covered flux.
HEAT TRANSFER TUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A heat transfer tube includes: a tube body made of an extruded material of an aluminum alloy having a composition including: 0.3 mass % or more and less than 0.8 mass % of Mn; more than 0.1 mass % and less than 0.32 mass % of Si; 0.3 mass % or less of Fe; 0.06 mass % or more and 0.3 mass % or less of Ti; and Al balance including inevitable impurities, a ratio of a Mn content to a Si content, Mn %/Si %, exceeding 2.5; and a Zn-containing layer provided to an outer surface of the tube body.
Method for repairing a receiving hook for guide vanes
Disclosed is a method for repairing a receiving hook for guide vanes, wherein the receiving hook is arranged in a housing of a turbomachine. The method comprises removing first material in a region of the receiving hook, which region extends over the circumference of the housing and thereafter applying second material in or on a region which extends over the circumference of the housing. The application of second material is performed using localized heat.
SINTER-BONDED HYBRID ARTICLE, METHOD FOR FORMING HYBRID ARTICLE, AND METHOD FOR CLOSING APERTURE
A hybrid article is disclosed including a coating disposed on and circumscribing the lateral surface of a core having a core material. The coating includes about 35% to about 95% of a first metallic material having a first melting point, and about 5% to about 65% of a second metallic material having a second melting point lower than the first melting point. The coating is sinter-bonded to the core. A method for forming the hybrid article is disclosed including disposing the core in a die, introducing a slurry having the metallic materials into a gap between the lateral surface and the die, and sintering the slurry, forming the coating. A method for closing an aperture of an article is disclosed including inserting the hybrid article into the aperture, and brazing the hybrid article to the article, welding the aperture with the hybrid article serving as weld filler, or both.
Heat transfer tube and method for producing same
An extruded heat transfer tube with an internal passage includes a tube body made of an extruded material of an aluminum alloy having a composition that includes 0.3 mass % or more and less than 0.8 mass % of Mn; more than 0.1 mass % and less than 0.32 mass % of Si; 0.3 mass % or less of Fe; 0.06 mass % or more and 0.3 mass % or less of Ti; and Al balance including inevitable impurities, a ratio of a Mn content to a Si content, Mn %/Si %, exceeding 2.5. The extruded heat transfer tube further includes a Zn-containing layer provided directly on an outer surface of the tube body.
