A method of manufacturing a blade carrier assembly. A sheet of metal having a thickness of 0.1 mm to 1 mm is provided. The sheet of metal is cut to form a blade carrier blank having a blade platform and a tab extending from the blade platform. The tab is coined to form a crest. At least one window is cut into the sheet of metal. The blade carrier blank is bent along the at least one window to form an upper portion and a lower portion. A blade is mounted to the lower portion. The blade is clamped by bending the upper portion toward the lower portion until the blade is in contact with both the upper portion and the lower portion.

In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides a razor assembly including a razor cartridge, razor handle, and recovering force-providing unit. The razor cartridge includes a shaving blade having a cutting edge and a blade housing receiving the shaving blade longitudinally. The razor handle is connected to the razor cartridge rotatably about a first rotational axis parallel to longitudinal direction within a rotation range. The recovering force-providing unit provides the razor cartridge rotated about the first rotational axis from a rest position with recovering force returning the razor cartridge to the rest position. The rotation range includes a first pivot section between the rest position and first angle, and a second pivot section between the first angle and a greater second angle. The recovering force increases as the razor cartridge rotates with an increasing rotational angle, at an increasing rate that differs between the first and second pivot sections.

A shaving razor cartridge with a housing having a top surface and a bottom surface. A guard is at the front of the housing. A cap is at a rear of the housing. At least one blade is mounted to the housing between the guard and the cap. The housing has a wall defining an opening extending from the top surface to the bottom surface that is configured to receive a portion of a handle. The wall having a pair of arms each with a distal end extending toward each other defining a gap. The bridge is a thermo-plastic elastomer that is different than a polymeric material of the housing.

Razor mechanisms

The present invention describes a novel spring mechanism for a razor. In the razor, the spring member may be disposed in a movable member assembly, portions of which may be used for ejection or pivoting. The spring may be fully encompassed within the assembly and be placed within supporting structures therein. The spring is a loop-shaped element having overlapping end portions with free distal ends. Alternately, the spring member is tear drop shaped loop shape with distal ends that are spaced apart. The spring may be disposed within a first and/or second movable member such as an eject button or a pivot member. A retarding structure on the spring provides a retarding force which is based on the interaction of the retarding structure with a protrusion on an assembly portion to keep the spring orientation intact. The spring is desirably comprised of stainless steel and is a flat wire.
