Stand-alone cutting apparatus
A stand-alone apparatus for cutting a web of media or tag stock into individual units for use downstream of a printer. The apparatus may cut vinyl, plastic, or RFID stock material in both back and forth directions. The apparatus comprises a housing, a carriage assembly and a movable cutter assembly. The cutter assembly is easily interchangeable and comprises a cutting element such as a wheel blade, and a pressure adjusting element for adjusting the amount of pressure applied by the cutting element to the stock material. Alternatively, the cutter assembly may be manufactured with a predetermined pressure load, but still permit an operator to adjust the depth of cut. The apparatus may be powered by and or in hardline or wireless communication with a printer, or may further comprise a computer microprocessor, memory and user interface to function wholly independent from a printer.
Cutter device and printing apparatus
A cutter device includes a pair of pulleys including a first pulley and a second pulley, an endless belt spanning the pair of pulleys, a holder that holds a movable blade and moves in accordance with a movement of the endless belt, a first sensor configured to detect that a position of the movable blade is at a first position, and a second sensor configured to detect that the position of the movable blade is at a second position. The first sensor and the second sensor are disposed at positions overlapping with the holder in an up-down direction. The holder includes a first arm protruding toward the first position and a second arm protruding toward the second position. The first arm faces the first sensor when the holder is at the first position, and the second arm faces the second sensor when the holder is at the second position.

Method for transverse cutting of a water-soluble tape
A method of making single-dose capsules, comprising cutting transverse flat areas of a water-soluble tape by a rotating knife roller and an anvil.
Combination printer and cutting apparatus
A combination printer and cutting device for printing upon and cutting a web of media or tag stock into individual units. The device may cut vinyl, plastic, or RFID stock material as it moves through the printer in both back and forth directions. The device comprises a printer and a cutting apparatus that is further comprised of a carriage assembly and a movable cutter assembly. The cutting apparatus is adaptable for use with both new and existing printers.
Bi-directional cutting modules
According to an example, a cutting module may comprise a carriage and a cutting blade, wherein the carriage may be capable of reciprocating movement along a cutting path. The carriage may be supported by a support structure and the cutting blade may have a fitting pin to engage with the carriage. During a first direction movement along the cutting path, the fitting pin may obtain a first cutting-edge angle. During a second direction movement along the cutting path, the fitting pin may obtain a second cutting-edge angle.
CUTTER DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A cutter device including a transport unit for transporting a medium, a round blade configured to move, while rotating, in a width direction intersecting a transport direction in which the medium is transported, a fixed blade provided along the width direction, and a controller configured to control driving of the transport unit and a movement in the width direction of the round blade, in which the controller is configured, when the medium is cut by causing the round blade to move to a first direction of the width direction, to cause the round blade to move to a second direction being a direction opposite to the first direction while causing the round blade to rotate without causing the medium to move in the transport direction.

CUTTER DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A cutter device including a transport unit for transporting a medium, a round blade configured to move in a width direction while rotating, and a fixed blade provided along the width direction, in which a rotation direction in which the round blade rotates when the medium is cut by causing the round blade to move to a first direction of the width direction coincides with the first direction, a rotational speed at which the round blade rotates when the medium is cut by causing the round blade to move to the first direction is set greater than a speed at which the round blade is caused to move to the first direction, and a thickness of the round blade is not less than 1 mm.
Bale splitting attachment
