The present invention relates to methods of producing polymer fibers and polymer fiber products and materials recovery from these processes. It is an object of this invention to produce polymer fibers and products that include these fibers using selective dissolution of multicomponent fiber and to recover the dissolved polymer and solvent for subsequent use.
POLYESTER FILM AND METHOD FOR REPRODUCING POLYESTER CONTAINER USING SAME
Embodiments relate to a polyester-based film and a process for regenerating a polyester-based container using the same, which not only solve the environmental problems by enhancing the recyclability of polyester-based containers but also are capable of enhancing the quality, yield, and productivity. When the polyester-based film is cut into a size of 1 cm in width and 1 cm in length, immersed in an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) having a concentration of 1% by weight, and stirred for 15 minutes at 85° C. at a speed of 240 m/minute, the average particle size of the component of the printing layer separated from the base layer satisfies 15 μm or more. Thus, it is possible to enhance the quality of the regenerated polyester-based chips produced from the polyester-based container provided with the polyester-based film.
ALUMINUM RECOVERY METHOD
A process for the recovery of aluminum, or recycling process, is described, which is based on separating the aluminum contained in aseptic carton packs (1), flexible packs (2) and residual aluminum alloy powder (3) used in manufacturing additive, through the selective dissolution of aluminum in a solution known as Bayer liquor and/or caustic soda, with sodium aluminate (liquid) and hydrogen gas (H.sub.2, gaseous) products. Both products can be used in an alumina refinery, the sodium aluminate is used for the production of aluminum hydroxide and the hydrogen can be used as fuel for boilers, furnaces or similar.

Process for producing monovinylaromatic polymer incorporating post-consumer recycled polystyrene, monovinylaromatic polymer incorporating post-consumer recycled polystyrene and articles produced thereof
The invention relates to a process and an installation to produce a monovinylaromatic polymer (3) comprising post-consumer recycled polystyrene (PCR-PS) wherein the process comprises the steps of mixing the PCR-PS (5) and the monovinylaromatic monomer (7) within a dissolver (9) to dissolve the PCR-PS (5) in the monovinylaromatic monomer (7) so as to produce a polymerization mixture (13); and a step of filtering the polymerization mixture (13) that includes continuously redirecting at least a part of the stream of the filtered polymerization mixture (17) back to the dissolver (9) and mixing it with the polymerization mixture (13) so as to continuously reduce the content of insoluble material in the polymerization mixture (13) contained in the dissolver (9).
Method, Device And Use For Reprocessing Substantially Polyalkylene Terephthalate
A method and a device for reprocessing waste products containing substantially polyalkylene terephthalate, particularly polyethylene terephthalate and/or polybutylene terephthalate, in a continuous process by means of depolymerizing is provided. A solid alkali hydroxide and/or alkali earth hydroxide, particularly sodium hydroxide, is added to the waste products for producing a reaction mixture, suitable for recycling multilayer systems and colored material nearly entirely chemically into the starting materials at a high throughput and high quality, in order to be able to produce new polyalkylene terephthalate products from the recycling products without limitation. An alkylene glycol is additionally added to the reaction mixture as a reactant, wherein the alkylene glycol is an alkylene glycol produced as a product of the intended depolymerizing, particularly MEG. No further reactive components are added to the reaction mixture.
A PROCESS FOR SEPARATION OF THE CELLULOSIC PART FROM A POLYESTER AND CELLULOSE COMPOSITION
A process for separation of the cellulosic part from a raw material composition comprising polyester and cellulose is provided. A blend is prepared comprising a raw material composition comprising polyester and cellulose and a hydrolyzing liquor wherein the hydrolyzing liquor comprises a first mixture comprising an alkaline solution containing hydroxide ions. The hydrolyzing liquor is added to give the blend an effective alkali concentration in a range from 5 g/l to 150 g/l, wherein the effective alkali concentration is calculated as NaOH, and the hydrolyzing liquor:raw material composition ratio is from 1.5:1 up to 25:1 and keeping the blend at a temperature of 100° C. or above.
