Aircraft skin attachment system
A method for forming a structural member and a structural member produced thereby includes positioning a first composite section and a second composite section within a tool. The tool has an inner surface and a wall intersection and is supported by a tool platform. The tool platform and a pressure platform are relatively movable between an open position and a closed position. The tool has a non-planar outer surface against which the member may be pressed. A composite splice member is positioned at least partially overlapping both the first composite section and the second composite section to form a joint in the composite structural member. The composite structural member is pressed against the non-planar outer surface of the tool by applying pressure to the joint from a pressure bladder. Heat is applied to the composite structural member at the joint to cure the composite splice member to the first composite section and the second composite section.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ACOUSTIC PROTECTION PANEL FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
The invention relates to a method for producing an acoustic protection panel (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising a decoupling layer based on foam flakes (3) agglomerated by a heat-activatable binding agent (4), said binding agent being formed by binding fibres, said fibres comprising a core meltable at high temperature and a sheath meltable at lower temperature, said flakes being bound together by melting said sheath, so that said layer is in the form of foam flakes agglomerated by said fibres, said flakes occupying between 80% and 90% by weight of said layer, so that said fibres occupy between 20% and 10% by weight of said layer.
Method and system based on thermoplastic forming to fabricate high surface quality metallic glass articles
A method of processing BMGs in a non-ideal environment (such as air) to create a uniform and smooth surface is provided. By utilizing the contact-line movement and an engineered flow pattern during TPF the method is able to create complex BMG parts that exhibit uniform smooth appearance or even can be atomically smooth. In addition, to mending surface imperfections, this method also eliminates void formation inside the material, allows for the creation of precise patterns of homogeneous appearance, and forms improved mechanical locks between different materials and a BMG.
Optical element, and method for producing same
An optical element includes a base having a curved depression formed in a front surface thereof and a formed layer arranged on the base. The formed layer includes a main part in the depression as viewed from a depth direction of the depression and an overhang on the front surface of the base while connecting to the main part. An opposite surface of the main part to a surface thereof on a side of an inner surface of the depression is formed like a concave curve that is concave in a same direction as the inner surface of the depression. A predetermined surface of the main part that is opposed to the inner surface of the depression is provided with an optical function part.
MANUFACTURING OF AN EMBEDDING ELEMENT FOR A WIND TURBINE BLADE
A method of manufacturing an embedding element (76) for embedment in a shell structure of a wind turbine rotor blade (10) is provided, wherein the method comprises arranging a fibre material (99) and a binding agent on the lower mould plate (93) in between the first movable core member (97) and the second movable core member (98). One or both of the core members can be pushed towards the cavity for compacting the fibre material (99), which is then heated together with the binding agent to form the embedding element (76) or a preform (90) thereof.
Curved plastic panel and method and device for processing the same
A method for processing a curved plastic panel is to first form a hard coating layer, an optical function layer, and a printing layer on a flat plastic substrate, and then cut it into a predetermined shape, and then use a hot pressing and curving device to perform a hot pressing and curving process to the flat plastic substrate in order to make it becoming a curved plastic substrate. The hot pressing and curving device can simultaneously perform hot pressing during the heating process, and has the functions of real-time monitoring of the local temperature and the local curvature forming state, and then feedback to the local heating and curvature forming mechanism for adjustments. The monitoring of temperature and curvature can be divided into multiple stages, which can be monitored stage by stage and adjusted for heating or curvature forming to improve production yield.
MOLDING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Embodiments are directed to a compression molding apparatus. The compression molding apparatus may include a female mold, a heated male mold, and a cooled male mold. The female mold may carry ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMW) material. The heated male mold may compress the UHMW material in the female mold during a first time period. The cooled male mold may compress the UHMW material in the female mold during a second time period.
Secondary battery pouch press mold
Press mold for secondary battery a press upper mold; at least two overforming punches arranged to be raised and lowered in the press upper mold; a plurality of forming punches arranged in the press upper mold to be raised and lowered between the overforming punches and the press upper mold; a press lower mold provided with a bridge forming protrusion protruding from an upper surface thereof; the bridge forming protrusion configured to form a bridge to be protruded from the pouch sheet, and a pouch sheet holder disposed to be raised and lowered on the press lower mold and fixing the pouch sheet together with the press upper mold, wherein the plurality of forming punches include a center punch in which a bridge forming groove into which a bridge is inserted is recessed on a lower surface.
COMPRESSION MOLDED DOUBLE WALL BLOCKS FOR A PALLET AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A compression press is provided, comprising: a frame; a movable lid carried by said frame and having an opening extending therethrough; an enclosure carried by said frame and comprising a core movable between a retracted position and an extended position, with said core aligned with the opening in said lid; a first hydraulic stage carried by said frame; and a second hydraulic stage carried by said frame and configured to apply additional pressure on said lid and said core in the extended position within the cavity. The first hydraulic stage is configured to perform the following: move said core from the retracted position to the extended position and move said lid and said core in the extended position to contact a mold having a cavity with material deposited therein, with pressure being applied to said lid and said core in the extended position within the cavity.
Compression molded double wall blocks for a pallet and associated methods
A compression molding system includes a first extruder to output melted plastic, and a second extruder downstream from the first extruder to mix the melted plastic with wood chips to output a composite material. A transfer valve alternately directs the composite material between inner block molds and outer block molds. Each inner block mold has an inner block press associated therewith to press the composite material into a desired shape of an inner block having an opening on one side. Each outer block mold has an outer block press associated therewith to press the composite material into a desired shape of an outer block having an opening on one side. A press assembly presses one of the inner blocks into the opening in one of the outer blocks to form a double wall block.
