Method and apparatus for forming objects having a core and an outer surface structure
A method of making at least partially foam-filled sandwich panels includes providing a panel shell, moving at least one of a portion of a first and/or second panel facer or a side member away from the panel volume, thereby defining an opening between the volume and an exterior area. A dispenser proximate the opening moves across at least a portion of the opening while dispensing an amount of a foam agent into the volume through the opening. A press has three platens, a third platen of which is secured to at least one of a portion of the first and/or second facer and the at least one side member and is moveable with respect to the first platen and the second platen in response to a control system.
Method For Producing A Lining Part For A Vehicle, And Lining Part Produced Using Said Method
In a method for producing a lining part, in particular for the interior of a vehicle, a support substrate is positioned opposite a flexible decorative layer with the interposition of a foam coating, and the support substrate is adhesively connected thereto, wherein the raw foam compound used to form the foam layer is foamed using a gas as a physical blowing agent and is applied onto the rear face of the decorative layer and/or the support substrate face facing the decorative layer in the form of an expanded foam. As long as the expanded foam coating is still flowable, the support substrate is positioned at a defined distance to the rear face of the decorative layer with the interposition of the expanded foam coating so that the decorative layer is connected to the support substrate by the foam coating and is held until the cross-linking process of the foam coating has at least mostly concluded, wherein a part of the foam layer which fills the original distance between the decorative layer and the support substrate is displaced and plastically compressed at least in some regions by the support substrate during the process of positioning same.
METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF A HEATED INTERIOR CLADDING PART
A method for the manufacture of an interior cladding part with a visible side and a flat heating element includes arranging of the flat heating element as foam mat in a foaming tool such that the flat heating element abuts with a first flat side, which is facing the visible side of the interior cladding part to be manufactured, against an interior surface of the foaming tool, and introducing a first foam material into the foaming tool on a second flat side, opposite the first flat side, of the flat heating element such that the flat heating element is only back-foamed on the second flat side. The first foam material connects with the carrier element and the flat heating element.
Insulating packaging
A package or container includes a side wall, the side wall having an inner surface and an outer surface. At least one of the inner surface or the outer surface of the side wall may be at least partially coated by a layer of a insulating material. The material may be adapted to be expanded to provide thermal insulation.
FILLING MEMBER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SEAT PAD USING THE FILLING MEMBER
A seat pad which can provide a favorable seating feeling while adhesion between a breathable member and a resin foam constituting the seat pad is ensured and a method of manufacturing such a seat pad are provided. A filling member including a breathable member having a ventilation function to an outside, used in a molding process of the seat pad for a vehicle integrally molded from a foam made of a foamable resin in a state where the breathable member is placed therein, and removed after the molding, is characterized by including a frame-shaped body attached to a peripheral side surface of an outside exposed surface of the breathable member and installed on a molding surface of a mold and a side-surface covering body installed upright on the frame-shaped body and partially covering a side surface of the breathable member.
Insulating container
A package or container includes a side wall, the side wall having an inner surface and an outer surface. At least one of the inner surface or the outer surface of the side wall may be at least partially coated by a layer of a insulating material. The material may be adapted to be expanded to provide thermal insulation.
MOLD FOR IN-MOLD FOAM MOLDING OF POLYOLEFIN-BASED RESIN, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING IN-MOLD FOAMING MOLDED ARTICLE, AND IN-MOLD FOAMING MOLDED ARTICLE
A mold for in-mold foam molding of polyolefin-based resin that prevents the occurrence of burrs at the time of molding to control productivity reduction and labor cost rising caused by burr trimming. A mold is configured to mold an insert member including an embedded part to be embedded into a foaming molded body formed from a polyolefin-based resin and a protrusion part protruding from the foaming molded body integrally with the foaming molded body. The mold is provided with an accommodation concave part capable of accommodating the protrusion part and an opening/closing part capable of opening and closing a cavity-side opening in conjunction with insertion and extraction of the protrusion part into and from the accommodation concave part such that, while the protrusion part is inserted into the accommodation concave part, and the cavity-side opening is closed.
TRIM COMPONENT FOR VEHICLE INTERIOR
A trim component for vehicle interior is disclosed. A method for forming the trim component is also disclosed. The trim component comprises a cover material, a base layer, a foamed plastic, and a support element. The base layer is intended to prevent foamed plastic from penetrating into the pores of the cover material. Foamed plastic is injected between the base layer and the support element to form the trim component. The method comprises the steps of producing a base layer, applying and fixing at least part of the cover material to the base layer to form a pre-laminate, introducing the pre-laminate into a foaming mold with the base layer between the cover material and a foam chamber (between the pre-laminate and the support element) within a foaming mold and introducing foamed plastic into the foam chamber to form the trim component.
METHOD OF MAKING SURF FIN INCLUDING INJECTION MOLDED PRE-IMPREGNATED COMPOSITE FIBER MATRIX INSERTS
A method of forming a fin configured for use with a water sports board. The method includes providing a mold having a mold cavity and first and second insert pre-preg sheets each including structural strands respectively bonded by first and second resin materials. The method further includes placing the insert pre-preg sheets within the mold cavity. The method further includes injecting a third resin material under pressure into the mold cavity between the first insert pre-preg sheet and the second insert pre-preg sheet to urge the first insert pre-preg sheet and the second insert pre-preg sheet away from each other and towards respective ones of the pair of mold cavity faces, and dispose the third resin material between the first insert pre-preg sheet and the second insert pre-preg sheet to space at least a portion of the first insert pre-preg sheet from the second insert pre-preg sheet.
Method and mold for producing a sandwich component
A method and compression mold are provided for producing a sandwich component, in which an outer shell and an inner shell are compressed, together with foam particles in a cavity between the shells, which cavity is formed by two mold halves of a mold, under pressure and at an increased temperature to form the sandwich component. At least one mold half is heated in a first temperature-control zone to a higher maximum temperature than in a second temperature-control zone.
