A multilayer foam panel member including: (a) at least one top sheet substrate; (b) at least one bottom sheet substrate; and (c) a middle substrate of foam material disposed inbetween, and integral with, the top and bottom sheet substrates; wherein the foam material is produced by dispensing a reactive foam-forming fluid mixture onto a moving or stationary bottom sheet substrate of a foam manufacturing line; and wherein the foam manufacturing line includes a flexible film fluid dispensing device for dispensing the reactive foam-forming fluid mixture onto the moving or stationary bottom sheet substrate to form a multilayer foam panel member; wherein the middle substrate of foam material of the panel member has improved thermal and mechanical properties; and a process for manufacturing the above multilayer foam panel member.

Apparatus and method for applying a foaming reaction mixture onto a laminator

Laminated panels are made in a process whereby a starting foam formulation is processed through a mixhead, passed through a branched distribution system and dispensed through multiple outlets of the distribution system to produce a foam layer on a bottom facing layer. The foam layer is monitored for the presence of surface bubbles. When surface bubbles are observed, the backpressure in the mixhead is increased to reduce or eliminate the surface bubbles. An apparatus for performing the process includes an adjustment means at or upstream of a first branch point in the distribution system to increase or decrease the backpressure in the mixhead.

CASTING DEVICE FOR APPLYING A FOAMING REACTION MIXTURE

The invention relates to a casting device for applying a foaming reaction mixture, to at least a partial width of a cover layer, wherein the casting device comprises: a supply connection for feeding in the reaction mixture; at least one exit slit extending in a transverse direction for the exiting of the reaction mixture; two slit plates arranged opposite one another, wherein a slit space extends between the slit plates in a vertical direction above the exit slit. A supply channel connected to the supply connection is formed between the slit plates, which closes off the slit space above the exit slit in the vertical direction The supply channel has a channel cross-section, the main dimension of which is larger that the width of the slit space. The reaction mixture can be introduced into the slit space to distribute the reaction mixture over the length of the supply channel.

Membrane roofing

A foam roofing underlayment is provided with a reinforcement membrane having an array of fastener elements for engaging fastener elements on a flexible roof membrane. The underlayment is formed by molding foam between the reinforcement membrane and a carrier membrane. The underlayment in secured to the roof using washers having fastener elements for engaging the fastener elements of the flexible roof membrane. An anti-peel flap with fastener elements is provided around the periphery of the washers. A slip sheet is used between the underlayment and the flexible roof membrane to permit accurate positioning of the flexible roof membrane prior to engagement of the fastener elements. The interstices between the fastener elements provide lateral moisture paths to vents in the flexible roof membrane.

Phenolic resin foam board, and method for manufacturing same

The present invention is a phenolic resin foam board having a thickness of 40 mm or more to 300 mm or less, when the phenolic resin foam board is sliced into n pieces (n5) at approximately equal intervals of 8 mm or more to 10 mm or less, a density of an n-th specimen is d.sub.n, an average density of n pieces of specimens is d.sub.ave, a lowest density among the densities of n pieces of specimens is d.sub.min, 0(d.sub.aved.sub.min)/d.sub.ave0.12 is established, and when values for D.sub.i=(d.sub.i+d.sub.(i+1))/2 are calculated, D.sub.i values are plotted and points corresponding to the D.sub.i values are connected, resulting in a density distribution curve, no straight line parallel to the horizontal axis intersects the density distribution curve at four points.
