Resin composition, molded article and heat-expandable microspheres
A resin composition containing heat-expandable microspheres including a thermoplastic resin shell and a thermally vaporizable blowing agent encapsulated therein and at least one base resin selected from rubbers, olefin resins and thermoplastic elastomers. The thermoplastic resin is a polymer of a polymerizable component containing N-substituted maleimide and a nitrile monomer containing methacrylonitrile. Also disclosed are molded articles manufactured by molding the resin composition.
THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FOAM, THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FOAM SHEET, FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN COMPOSITE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FOAM, THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FOAM MOLDED ARTICLE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FOAM MOLDED ARTICLE, AND FOAMED RESIN COMPOSITE
A thermoplastic resin foam including a thermoplastic resin, wherein: the thermoplastic resin includes a polyester resin and a polyimide resin, and the thermoplastic resin foam shows a single glass transition temperature Tg. The glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic resin is preferably 80 to 130° C. An absolute value of difference between heat absorption and heat generation, each determined by heat flux differential scanning calorimetry at a heating rate of 10° C./min, is preferably 3 to 35 J/g.
Polyolefin resin foam and production method thereof and adhesive tape
One object of the present invention is to provide a polyolefin resin foam sheet suitable as a sealing substrate having both flexibility and heat resistance despite its thinness, and an adhesive tape in which the polyolefin resin foam sheet is used. In order to achieve this, the polyolefin resin foam includes a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the endothermic peaks measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) occur in the range of at least 110° C. or more and 143° C. or less and at 153° C. or more, and the thermoplastic elastomer resin is contained at a ratio of 30% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less in 100% by mass of the polyolefin resin.
POLYMERIC SHELLS AND PARTICLES FOR VACUUM INSULATION PANELS
A method of forming a polymeric vacuum insulation board is provided, the polymeric vacuum insulation board including a plurality of evacuated, closed-cell pores therein. In one embodiment, the method includes intermixing a polymer with zeolite particles that contain water and extruding the resulting composition under high pressure. During extrusion, water in the zeolite particles evaporates and creates a porous, closed-cell microstructure within a polymer matrix. As the polymer matrix cools and solidifies, water vapor is reabsorbed by the zeolite, which at least partially evacuates the closed-cell pores. In another embodiment, the method includes intermixing a polymer with expandable graphite particles and extruding the resulting composition under high pressure. During extrusion, the expandable graphite particles define evacuated voids. The polymer binder can be selected to include low gas permeance, for example ethylene vinyl alcohol (EvOH) or polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC). In some applications, the polymer can be blended with nano-clays or other additives to further decrease the gas permeance of the vacuum insulation board.
PRESSURE COLLAPSIBLE CLOSED CELLULAR SWELL PACKER
Swell packer assemblies for providing a physical barrier inside a wellbore, and methods of using such swell packer assemblies, are provided. In one embodiment, the swell packer includes a substantially tubular member; and a seal element disposed on the substantially tubular member, the seal element including an elastomeric swellable material that comprises: a closed cell material having a plurality of pore spaces therein; and a compressible gas located within at least a portion of the plurality of pore spaces.
Seal for a vacuum material lifter
A seal for a vacuum lifter and method of manufacture wherein the seal has a continuous unbroken outer fluid resistant skin of elastomer which forms a boundary around a homogeneous cellular structure with no interior seams or joints.
Cut-board edge-sealing method
A method of automatically advancing a polymer cut-board, such as cellular polyvinyl chloride, through a stationary, non-spinning sealing element having a rounded or cylindrical surface that contacts and compresses a cut edge of the board to provide a sealed skin surface to the cut edge.
