Foodstuff processing line systems and methods
A process that includes receiving, by a trimmer via a conveyor system, a foodstuff, automatically trimming, by the trimmer and based on trimming instructions, the foodstuff that results in trimmings and a trimmed foodstuff. The process also includes advancing, via the conveyor system, the trimmings of the foodstuff to a trimmings collector, and advancing, via the conveyor system, the trimmed foodstuff out of the trimmer. The trimmer is provided on the conveyor system prior to an injector such that the trimmer performs the automatic trimming of the foodstuff prior to injecting the foodstuff with a liquid solution by the injector.
SHRIMP PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHODS
Methods and systems using a vision system to process shrimp. The in-line or off-line vision system captures images of samples of shrimps. The processor produces a digital image of the shrimps in the samples. Shrimps exiting a peeler are imaged to determine the number of tail segments in or the percentage of full weight of each. The shrimps are classified by the number of intact segments, and quality, yield, and throughput computed from the classification results. The processor can control operational settings of the peeler based on the classification results. In a larger system including other shrimp-processing equipment besides the peeler, other points along the processing path can be imaged by camera or sensed by other sensors to determine processing quality and to make automatic operational adjustments to the equipment.
DUAL TRIMMER FOODSTUFF PROCESSING LINE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A process that includes receiving, by a first trimmer via a conveyor system, a foodstuff and automatically trimming, by the first trimmer and based on first trimming instructions, the foodstuff that results in first trimmings and a trimmed foodstuff. An injector receives the trimmed foodstuff and injects, based on injection instructions, a liquid solution into the trimmed foodstuff to generate an injected foodstuff. A cooker receives the injected foodstuff and cooks, based on cooking instructions, the injected foodstuff that results in a cooked foodstuff. A chiller receives the cooked foodstuff and chills the cooked foodstuff that results in a chilled foodstuff. A second trimmer receives the chilled foodstuff and automatically trims, based on second trimming instructions, the foodstuff that results in second trimmings and a trimmed chilled foodstuff. The second trimmer advances, via the conveyor system, the trimmed chilled foodstuff out of the second trimmer.
OVEN ARRANGEMENT AND A METHOD FOR COOKING INITIALLY UNCOOKED, WHOLE MUSCLE MEAT FOOD PRODUCTS
An oven arrangement and a method are for cooking initially uncooked, whole muscle meat food products, to obtain cooked products having a minimum final core temperature. The oven arrangement has an oven housing and a conveyor for conveying the food products through the oven housing. A scanner arrangement is provided upstream of the oven housing for scanning uncooked food products, configured to obtain food product data. A controller is provided using data obtained from the scanner arrangement to control conveying speed and oven climate devices to obtain the cooked products.
Food processing device
A food processing device comprising a conveyor, a processor configured for receiving image data representing images of the food items, and a plurality of workstations arranged along the conveyor system. The avoid time consuming processing of food items, the processor is configured to provide a processing indicator which indicates whether the food items need further processing or not and the device comprises an identification structure configured to identify food items which are selected for further processing such that they are distinguished from food items not being selected for further processing based on the processing indicator.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SORTING AND ORIENTING FOOD ITEMS
An apparatus and method for sorting and orienting food items includes a first conveyor, a second conveyor extending from the first conveyor and for transporting, in a second feed direction, food items received from the first conveyor, an opening formed at the end of the first conveyor, a first sensor device for obtaining information on the food items, a pick-and-place robot arranged to pick food items from the first conveyor and place them on the second conveyor, a control module configured for receiving information from the first sensor device and for controlling the robot. The robot is controlled to pick food items from the first conveyor and to place and selectively orient the food item relative to the second feed direction on the second conveyor, if the food item belongs to a first category only, and such that food items belonging to a second category will pass into the opening.
