A lure for fishing includes a hollow body including a first body having a first bonding surface and a second body having a second bonding surface bonded to the first bonding surface, a wire having an eye to which a line or a hook is configured to be connected, and integrally incorporated into the body, and a buffer member between the body and the wire. The wire is sandwiched between the first body and the second body with the buffer member interposed therebetween such that the eye is exposed to outside of the body, and is configured to move relative to the buffer member. The buffer member is in contact with both the first body and the second body.

The body has a density to float on water and is compressible to have a resting configuration and a compressed configuration in response to a fish bite. The body has at least one channel defined in an outer surface thereof. The at least one fishhook is connected to the body and cooperates with a corresponding one of the at least one channel. The fishhook comprises a shank, a bend and a point where a hook gap is defined between the point and the shank. The hook gap is occupied by part of the body in the resting position, and the shank is aligned with the corresponding channel and is displaced therein when the body moves to the compressed configuration to increase hook gap exposure.

Specifically, embodiments of a fishing lure are disclosed that include a head portion and a tail portion that are couplable to form a bait chamber. The fishing lure is attachable to a leader via a passage formed by the fishing lure that remains within the chamber from a first hole formed in the head portion to a second hole formed in the tail portion. The second hole is formed in a surface of the tail portion that is closer to the first hole of the head portion than a second end surface of the tail portion.
