METHOD FOR PRODUCING VIRTUAL THREE-DEMENSIONAL PATTERNS IN MOLDED BODIES MADE OF PLASTIC
The present invention relates to a two-step process for the production of virtual three-dimensional patterns in polymeric mouldings with the aid of injection-moulding processes, in particular a process in which a conventional injection-moulding process are combined with a reactive injection-moulding process in a suitable manner in order to obtain polymeric mouldings having a virtual three-dimensional pattern which is visible on one surface and is formed by flake-form effect pigments, and to the polymeric mouldings produced by means of this process and to the use thereof, in particular for decorative purposes.
Microstructured nozzle and production thereof
The invention relates to a nozzle for use in a device for administering a liquid medical formulation, to a method for producing the nozzle in the form of a microfluidic component and to a tool for producing microstructures of the microfluidic component. The nozzle is formed by a plastics plate with groove-like microstructures which are covered by a plastics cover on the longitudinal side in a fixed manner. The production method includes a moulding process in which a moulding tool is used, which moulding tool has complementary metal microstructures which have been produced from a semiconductor material in an electrodeposition process by means of a master component.
Mold and device for marking work pieces
A device for marking a work piece that is at least partially formed or reshaped through a thermal process is provided. The device includes a plurality of heating elements distributed laterally on a surface that is placed against the work piece and can be individually controlled for local heating of a work piece surface. Each of the heating elements includes a solid material with a surface structure and a heating structure. The surface structure includes at least one of a specifically or randomly varied topography. The surface structure can be at least partially heated through the heating structure.
Elastic retroreflector
A retroreflector includes an arrangement of triples, each having three side surfaces, which are disposed in the manner of a cube corner and stand approximately perpendicular on one another. The retroreflector can be produced from a carrier material by injection molding. An optical silicone resin is used as the carrier material. The retroreflector is based on triple mirrors that are both easily unmolded from a die and easily applied to curved surfaces even after unmolding or are usable for reflection of ultraviolet light.
GOLF BALL HAVING NON-PLANAR PARTING LINE
The present invention is directed to a golf ball having a non-planar parting line on its spherical surface. The non-planar parting line includes a plurality of arcuate segments, including at least one elliptical arc segment.
Injection molded component
An injection molded component has a functional portion and a quality control portion. The quality control portion comprises a set of protrusions which are adapted to distort visibly in response to injection molding shrinkage, thereby to enable visual quality control inspection.
Vehicle interior panel and method of manufacturing same
A vehicle interior panel such as an instrument panel includes a substrate having a thickness between 0.5 mm and 2.25 mm, inclusive, a decorative layer, and an intermediate layer located between the substrate and the decorative layer. A post-form warpage of the substrate is less than 15 mm at an edge region of the substrate. A serpentine rib located near the edge region helps impart structural rigidity to the panel during a foaming process to achieve an adequate degree of post-form warpage.
ANTI-MIGRATION MICROPATTERNED STENT COATING
An endoprosthesis has an expanded state and a contracted state, the endoprosthesis includes a stent having an inner surface defining a lumen, having an outer surface, and defining a plurality of apertures through the outer surface, wherein the apertures are arranged in a micropattern; and a coating (e.g., polymeric coating) attached to the outer surface of the stent. The coating includes a base and a tissue engagement portion including a second surface facing outwardly from the stent, the tissue engagement portion including a structure that defines a plurality of holes extending inwardly from the second surface toward the base. The holes are arranged in a micropattern. When the endoprosthesis is expanded to the expanded state in a lumen defined by a vessel wall, the structure applies a force that may reduce stent migration by creating an interlock between the vessel wall and the endoprosthesis.
Cut pattern for film
A cut pattern for a film or film laminate used in the fabrication of optical articles such as lenses.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INJECTION MOLDING
A method and device for injection moulding, in particular for micro-injection moulding, at least comprising a mould with a first mould half and a second mould half, wherein the first mould half and the second mould half define an injection moulding space in the closed state of the mould, and an insert arranged in the injection moulding space.
