EXTRUDABLE POLYMER COMPOSITES WITH MEMBRANE BARRIER PROPERTIES
The present disclosure generally relates to extrusion die systems. In particular, the present disclosure relates to the cyclical extrusion of materials to generate small sized grain features, generally in the range of nanosized grain features, in a tubular or profile shape, in which the individual nanolayers possess pores and/or polymer crystals oriented parallel to the extrusion flow direction and including products with enhanced permeation properties.

Blown film coextrusion line with polygonal extruder arrangement
A blown film coextrusion line includes a support frame, a plurality of extruders each mounted to the support frame and extending upward at an angle, and a downward facing blown film coextrusion die connected to distal ends of each of the plurality of extruders and receiving individual polymer streams from them. The blown film coextrusion line is compact and sturdy and eliminates much of the floor space and towered mounting structure that was required for conventional blown film coextrusion lines. A corresponding method of making a multilayer coextruded blown film is also provided.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CONTAINERS
A method of manufacturing containers consisting of a substantially stiff outer container and a readily deformable inner bag of first and second thermoplastic plastic materials, where the inner bag is detached from the wall of the outer container, includes the step of the excess material is supplied again to the first screw conveyor, which mixes the excess material with the first thermoplastic plastic material and supplies it to the extruder nozzle, wherein the first thermoplastic plastic material has a lower viscosity in the molten state than the excess material so that the outer layer of the extruded tube consists only of the first thermoplastic plastic material.
COEXTRUSION DIE FOR MANUFACTURING MULTILAYER TUBULAR PREFORMS MADE FROM THERMOPLASTIC PLASTIC
A coextrusion die for manufacturing multilayer, coextruded, tubular preforms made from thermoplastic plastic. A storage cylinder element has an inner storage space. A spindle, and an annular storage space is formed between the spindle and the storage cylinder element, which opens into an output ring channel. An extrusion head, which is axially displaceable with respect to the storage cylinder element includes a ring piston, in which at least two heart distributor elements are coaxially arranged. A flow channel is formed in each case between the ring piston and the adjacent heart distributor element as well as between each of two heart distributor elements, which widens from an inlet opening to a distributor ring channel from where it transitions into a cylindrical ring channel as a frustoconical ring channel.
HYDRODYNAMIC AND GRAVITY FOCUSING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF FORMING AND SHAPING MICROFLUIDIC DEVICES
A curable sheath fluid and a core fluid are simultaneously introduced from a hydrodynamic nozzle to form a co-flowing extrusion, depositing at least a portion of the co-flowing extrusion on a material bed, and causing relative motion between the hydrodynamic nozzle and the material bed to form an extruded shape. The method comprises curing part or all of the external curable fluid. The method may introduce co-flowing extrusion to pressure to remove the internal core fluid from the external curable fluid, and may receive the core fluid into the fluid drain system. The extruded shapes may form a tube or plurality of tubes in a bundle or porous substrate. The ability to form concentric tubes and complex shapes provides a means forming high strength materials controlled release materials, and self-repair materials.

Water quenching apparatus and process for blown film lines
A blown film line and process for making blown film, including an annular extrusion or coextrusion die, a plurality of nip rollers at a location remote from the annular die, a blown film bubble extruding from the annular die and traveling toward the nip rollers along a traveling path, an air cooling apparatus in the vicinity of the annular die, and a water cooling apparatus located downstream from the air cooling apparatus along the traveling path. The water cooling apparatus includes a wet porous material in direct contact with the blown film bubble and surrounding an outer circumference of the blown film bubble. The wet porous material continuously wipes the blown film bubble with water as the blown film bubble moves along the traveling path.

Multilayer non-cross-linked heat-shrinkable packaging films
The present invention provides a multilayer packaging film characterized by an improved sealability even through contamination with excellent shrinkability good optics and strength without using internal layers of stiff resins and cross-linking, to flexible containers made therefrom, such as bags, pouches and the like, useful for packaging articles, in particular food items.
