Candle Filter Support and Plate Assembly for Polymer Melts
A polymer melt candle filter having a support which comprises a hollow cylindrical body defined by a first end, a second end, and a cylinder wall having a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion includes a screw thread on its outside surface and optionally a hex fitting on its inside surface for receiving a hex wrench. The second end portion includes a plurality of holes in the cylinder wall. The area of the openings of the holes on the outside surface of the cylinder wall may be larger than the area of the openings of the corresponding holes on the inside surface of the cylinder wall. The shape of the openings of the holes on the outside surface may be non-circular. A polymer melt filter plate assembly which comprises (a) a support plate comprising a plurality of threaded holes; (b) at least one filter which is screwed into at least one of the threaded holes via the screw thread on the outside surface of the first end portion of the filter support; (c) a tie rod with (i) a first end extending through a hole in a cone insert and a cap located at the second end of the filter support, and (ii) a second end extending through a threaded hole in the support plate; and (d) a cross bar which is attached to the second end of the tie rod for holding the support plate inside a shaft of an apparatus for filtering a polymer melt.
FILTER SYSTEM FOR VISCOUS OR HIGHLY VISCOUS LIQUIDS, IN PARTICULAR PLASTIC MELTS AND METHOD FOR FILTERING VISCOUS OR HIGHLY VISCOUS LIQUIDS
The invention relates to a device and a method for filtering viscous or highly viscous liquids, in particular plastics melts, using an oscillating filter plate.
FILTER MEDIUM, FILTER MEMBER PROVIDED WITH FILTER MEDIUM, AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR RESIN FILM USING FILTER MEDIUM
An object of the present invention is to prevent precipitation of antimony metal comprised in a molten resin and to prevent product defects of a resin film made of the molten resin due to the contamination of the antimony metal. According to the present invention, a filter medium for filtration of a molten resin containing antimony is provided, and the filter medium is formed of a material not substantially comprising molybdenum.
Extruded deposition of fiber reinforced polymers
A fiber reinforced polymer part is fabricated by rastering a deposition head over a substrate, and additively forming part features by extruding a polymer having an entrained continuous reinforcement from the deposition head onto a substrate.
Method and mould for producing a panel assembly
Mold for producing a panel assembly comprising a panel and a gasket, which gasket is adhered to the panel, and extends along at least a portion of the periphery thereof, the mold comprising a first mold part and a second mold part that are formed such that the panel can been closed thereby forming a closed cavity the inner boundaries of which are formed by a first mold surface, a second mold surface and the periphery of the panel, and wherein the second mold part comprises a resilient lip extending along the periphery, the resilient lip being provided for being displaced by an applicator device to provide access to the closed cavity.
COEXTRUSION FEEDBLOCK
A coextrusion feedblock is disclosed having a housing, a central extrusion channel, a coextrusion channel, a rotatable combining plane, a rotatable profile actuator, and a profiled bar mounted removably on the rotatable profile actuator. The central extrusion channel and the coextrusion channel pass through the housing. The rotatable combining plane and the rotatable profile actuator are positioned on opposite sides of the coextrusion channel so as to confront each other.
FILTER CANDLE TO SEPARATE CONTAMINANTS FROM A PLASTIC MELT
A filter candle to separate contaminants from a plastic melt is disclosed. The filter candle has a filter element through which a melt flow is directed to retain contaminants contained in the melt flow, and a supporting body to support the filter element. The supporting body is a hollow body having multiple passages for the melt flow. At least one additional supporting body is on the side of said filter element that faces away from the supporting body. The additional supporting body acts on surface regions of the filter element and/or accommodates them such that the filter element can be backwashable.
FILTER DEVICE AND FILTER METHOD
The invention relates to a filter device comprising an inlet chamber, an outlet chamber, a filter system which separates the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. The filter device is characterised in that the inlet chamber comprises at least one liquid supply line and at least one liquid discharge line and the outlet chamber does not comprise a liquid supply and comprises at least one liquid discharge line. The invention also relates to a corresponding filter method.

REMOVABLE EXTRUDER ADAPTER FOR IMPROVED FEED
Methods for altering feed throat passageway size, shape and position in a pellet fed extruder by means of a removable adapter are disclosed. Adapters chosen for optimal extrusion performance may be removed with little effort in a shorter time and may be more cost effective than other methods for optimization of extrusion including replacing the screw or by replacing the feed throat through purchase of a different extruder.
