Process for fastening an accessory in a blow molded plastic tank
It is proposed a process for fastening an accessory to the interior of a blow-molded tank, the tank having a plastic wall produced from a parison, the accessory comprising a body having at least one attaching portion projecting radially from the body. The process comprises the steps of: a) introducing the accessory and the parison in a molten state into a mold so that the accessory is surrounded by the parison, the mold comprising cavities, at least one cavity being equipped with at least one movable insert configured to fold locally some of the molten parison on the attaching portion; b) contacting the parison with the attaching portion; c) moving forward the insert and folding locally some of the molten parison on the attaching portion; d) closing the mold by moving the mold cavities to a final closing position and inflating the parison to form the blow-molded tank; e) moving backwards the insert; and f) opening the mold.
Lightweight container base
A container defining a longitudinal axis and a transverse direction that is transverse with respect to the longitudinal axis is disclosed. The container includes a finish, a sidewall portion extending from the finish, and a base portion extending from the sidewall portion and enclosing the sidewall portion to form a volume therein for retaining a commodity. The base portion has a contact surface for supporting the container. The container also includes at least one strap extending along the base portion in the transverse direction. The strap defines a strap surface, and the strap surface is spaced offset in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis from the contact surface. The strap surface extends in the transverse direction to be adjacent the sidewall portion such that the at least one strap surface is visible from a side of the container.
Lightweight Container Base
A container including an opening defined by a finish portion, and a base at an end of the container opposite to the opening. The base includes a standing ring extending inward from a heal to a center pushup portion. The center pushup portion includes an pushup ring surrounding an inversion portion. In an as-blown position the inversion portion extends outward and beyond the pushup ring such that the inversion portion is further from the opening than the pushup ring. In a final position the inversion portion is inverted relative to the as-blown position such that the inversion portion extends inward so as to be closer to the opening than the pushup ring. The inversion portion is mechanically moved from the as-blown position to the filled position with an inversion device after the container has been filled to reduce vacuum or increase pressure within the container.
MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR FORMING A CONTAINER FROM A PREFORM WITH A HANDLE NOTCH
A method for forming a container with an integral handle includes heating a preform having an integral handle in a first oven, stretching the preform, closing a first mold having a first mold recess and a second mold having a second mold recess around the preform, and blowing air into the preform. A handle pocket wedge block is inserted into a handle pocket of the integral handle of the preform within the first mold and the second mold.
TOOLING, SYSTEM, AND PROCESS FOR INJECTION STRETCH BLOW MOLDED CONTAINER WITH INTEGRAL HANDLE
Stretch blow station tooling for stretch blowing at least one parison into a molded article, with such parison including a handle. The tooling comprises at least one blow mold assembly including first and second blow mold halves shiftable between an open position and a closed position. The first and second blow mold halves each include a body cavity surface formed therein. In the closed position, the body cavity surfaces of the first and second blow mold halves are aligned to define a blow cavity for receiving at least a portion of the parison. The tooling further comprises a plunger assembly including a plunger configured to be selectively positioned within the blow cavity. When the plunger is positioned within the blow cavity, the plunger is configured to contact the handle of the parison.
Blow mold, stretch blow molder and method for forming a container
The invention relates to a blow mold (100) comprising a mold base (101) having a cavity (102) as the mold cavity, the cavity (102) having a bottom region (1), a center region (2) and a top region (3). When the blow mold (100) is closed, the center region (2) can be moved relative to the top region (1) and/or relative to the bottom region (3).
Method of processing a plastic container to increase internal pressure
A method of processing a plastic container to increase internal pressure including blow-molding the container to comprise an invertible panel in the base and a standing ring, hot filling and sealing the container, feeding the container into an apparatus with a holding device and forcing a volume reduction and pressure increase into the container, and stacking the containers in bulk pallets on top of one another to increase top load and create a positive pressure within the distribution load of containers.
