Plastic container having a movable base

A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish defining an opening into the container, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewall defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel located in the lower portion. The pressure panel is movable between an outwardly-inclined position and an inwardly-inclined position to compensate for a change of pressure inside the container. The standing surface defines a standing plane, and the entire pressure panel is located between the standing plane and the upper portion of the container when the pressure panel is in the outwardly-inclined position.

Mould for a clippable bottle

The invention relates to a base for a mould, for a clippable bottle, comprising, on the upper face thereof, a wall for moulding the bottom of the container to be produced, from which a head extends along a longitudinal axis A2, said head comprising a peripheral surface comprising at least one blind opening, characterised in that the portion of said peripheral surface in line with said blind opening can move between a forward position, wherein said portion is aligned with the rest of said peripheral surface, and a rear position, wherein said portion is set back from the axis parallel to the axis A2 and passing through the bottom of said blind opening.

In a fixing member 110 formed with an insertion hole 113 for inserting an elevation rod 111, a communication hole 114 communicating with the insertion hole 113 is formed to open at a side surface of the fixing member 110. A key member 112 is inserted into the communication hole 114 and engaged with a key groove 118 provided at the distal end of the elevation rod 111. By so doing, the elevation rod 111 and the fixing member 110 are coupled together.

Blow molding machine with molds moved mechanically and without the aid of electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic devices

An extrusion blow mold machine forming hollow containers. The machine has at least one pair of opposing half molds that combine to form a mold and define a mold cavity. Each of the half molds is positioned on a carrier plate and includes first, second, and third mold segments. The first and third mold segments can move with respect to each other and with respect to the second, fixed mold segment. A mechanical structure creates vertical movement of the first and third mold segments relative to the second mold segment as the mold opens horizontally, without the aid of any electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic device. A closing unit engages the carrier plate to move the carrier plate and its respective half mold toward and away from the opposing half mold and its respective carrier plate, thereby closing and opening the mold.

PLASTIC CONTAINER HAVING A DEEP-SET INVERTIBLE BASE AND RELATED METHODS

In one embodiment, a method of processing a plastic container having a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The method includes: blow-molding a plastic container having an upper portion including a finish, a sidewall, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, and a substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel having an inner annular wall and a central push-up portion located in the base, wherein a base mold portion is displaced longitudinally with respect to first and second side mold portions to form the pressure panel set above the standing surface; introducing heated liquid contents into the plastic container with the pressure panel located in an outwardly-inclined position entirely between the standing surface and the upper portion; capping the plastic container; and, moving the pressure panel to an inwardly-inclined position entirely between the standing surface and the upper portion.

Lightweight container base

A mold system for forming a container having a longitudinal axis and a transverse direction that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis. The mold system includes a sidewall system for molding the sidewall portion of the container. The mold system also includes a base system for molding the base portion of the container. The base system is operable for forming the entire base portion of the container including a central pushup portion, a contact surface for supporting the container, and at least one strap extending along the base portion in the transverse direction. The strap defines a strap surface that is spaced offset in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis from the contact surface. The strap surface extends in the transverse direction to be adjacent the sidewall portion such that the at least one strap surface is visible from a side of the container.
