A nozzle arrangement is arranged in the region of the transfer device for impinging a cooling liquid on the containers. The nozzle arrangement has a gas nozzle connected by a gas line to a gas source. The nozzle arrangement has a liquid nozzle connected by a liquid line to a liquid source. The gas nozzle and the liquid nozzle are arranged and oriented relative to one another such that a liquid jet from the liquid nozzle strikes a gas jet from the gas nozzle in an intersection region.

Blow molding device

The blow molding device (1) is provided with a heating means (4) for heating a preform (P) to a temperature appropriate for molding, an antimicrobial agent-spraying means (50) for spraying an antimicrobial agent on the preform (P), a hot forming means for stretch blow molding the preform into a bottle (B), and an irradiation device (7) irradiating electromagnetic waves or ultrasonic waves on the bottle. After the heating means (4) has heated the preform (P), the anti-microbial agent-spraying means (50) sprays the anti-microbial agent and sterilizes the preform (P) with hot antimicrobial agent. During subsequent stretch blow molding of the preform (P), the hot forming means performs additional drying of antimicrobial agent retained on the preform (P) in the hot state and additional sterilization. The irradiation device (7) irradiates electromagnetic waves or ultrasonic waves to degrade the anti-microbial agent remaining on the molded bottle (B) and further promote antimicrobial agent drying and sterilization.

Methods and systems are provided for heating a dielectric preform material. An exemplary method includes inserting the preform material into a microwave cavity along a longitudinal axis of the microwave cavity and supplying the microwave cavity with microwave power having a frequency that corresponds to an axial wavelength along the longitudinal axis of the microwave cavity. The axial wavelength is greater than a length of the preform material along the longitudinal axis. The method includes heating the preform material within the microwave cavity by the microwave power and determining temperatures of the preform material at one or more locations on a surface of the preform material. The method further includes adjusting, based on the temperatures of the preform material, the microwave frequency to achieve substantially uniform heating at least on a sidewall of the preform material along the longitudinal axis.
