A method for thermoforming an article includes extruding a sheet of material, conditioning the sheet with a roller, thermoforming the sheet to provide a web, and cutting the web to provide the article.
Polarized lens film production apparatus
Disclosed herein is a polarized lens film production apparatus, which may include a cover part which is configured in a circular plate; a heater part which is disposed at an inner center part of the cover part; a body part which is formed in a cylindrical shape having an accommodation space; a center part which is disposed at an inner center portion of the body part; a plurality of connection pipe parts which are disposed at a side surface of the center part and are connected communicating with the center part; a plurality of dish-shaped forming frames which are disposed at the top of each of the connection pipe part; and a vacuum hole which is defined at a center portion of each of the dish-shaped forming frames and communicates with the connection pipe part, by means of which mass production is available.
MOLD PLATEN WITH WOVEN SURFACE TEXTURE AND THERMOSET ARTICLE MADE THEREFROM
A method for imparting textures of grained or woven patterns to the surfaces of thermoset articles during the formation of the article includes a platen with a texture being introduced into a mold. A thermoset material is charged into the mold. Pressure and heat are applied to bring the thermoset material into contact with the platen to impart the texture to a surface of the thermoset material. The thermoset material is allowed to cure in the mold. The thermoset article is removed from the mold with the texture. The textured article is structurally improved relative to a like article formed with a smooth or other platen texture. A system for producing the article by way of the method is also provided.
CONTINUOUS MANUFACTURING METHOD OF ACOUSTIC TRANSMISSION LOSS PANELS WITH RESONATOR NETWORK CORES
A method is described. The method is a continuous manufacturing method of an acoustic transmission loss panel resonator core. The acoustic panel is a double-wall panel construction with two sidewall panels and a resonator core. The resonator core is formed from a roll of film. One or more rollers form interconnected resonator chambers in the film. The resonator chambers are in a rectangular lattice shape. The resonator chambers are continuously formed from a single sheet and then bonded to the second sidewall. The resonator core is then attached between first and second sidewalls. The resonator core defines an air gap between the resonator core and the first sidewall.
MOVING FILLING NOZZLES ON A ROTATABLE FORMING MACHINE
A rotatable thermoforming machine for producing soluble pockets made from a soluble web. The machine has a plurality of pocket forming cavities 38a, b, c in each of which a respective pocket is formed in the soluble web. The pockets travel in a machine direction defined as the X direction and filling means 44 is arranged to at least partially fill the or each pocket formed in the soluble web. The filling means 44 comprising one or more nozzles 44, each nozzle 44 being arranged to be moveable in at least the X-direction as the or each respective pocket is filled from the filling nozzle 44.
VACUUM MOLDING ROLL SLEEVE AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A vacuum molding roll sleeve (100, 700, 800)comprises a body (119, 818, 819) comprising a mold wall portion (120, 820) disposed between a molding surface (110, 1210, 710, 810) and at least one vacuum surface (130, 830). The molding surface (110, 1210, 710, 810) has shaped depressed features and has first openings (112, 812) disposed therein at first predetermined positions (134). Each first opening (112, 812) is spaced apart from the at least one vacuum surface (130, 830) by a respective minimum thickness (135, 835). The at least one vacuum surface (130, 830) has second openings (132, 832) disposed therein at second predetermined positions (134). The first openings (112, 812) are fluidly connected to the second openings (132, 832) by conduits (140, 840) wherein, on a respective basis, at least some of the conduits (140, 840) are longer than the minimum thickness (135, 835) between the first openings (112, 812) and the vacuum surface (130, 830). The vacuum molding roll sleeve (100, 700, 800) is configured such that at least partial vacuum can be applied to the first openings (112, 812) through the conduits (140, 840) fluidly connected thereto. The vacuum molding roll sleeve (100, 700, 800) is mountable on a backup roll (737). Methods of making and using the vacuum molding sleeve are also disclosed.
A DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RECEPTACLES PROVIDED WITH DECORATIVE WRAP-AROUND LABELS BY THERMOFORMING
The device includes a mold block having at least one thermoforming chamber (28) having an inside surface (29), an axial opening (28A) through which a decorative wrap-around label (38) can be inserted into the chamber, and a moving end-wall (40) opposite from the opening. The end-wall is suitable for moving in an end segment (28A) of the chamber (28) between a positioning high level and at least one thermoforming low level, and the device has at least one tongue-and-groove set comprising a fin (42) on the end-wall (40) that is engaged in a notch (44) in the inside surface of the end segment (28B).
