Method of forming an automatic dishwashing pouch, vacuum forming system and pouch
A method of forming an automatic dishwashing pouch comprising the steps of: providing a sheet of material (10); identifying one or more regions of the material; heating the material with a heating device having a non-uniform heating profile, the non-uniform heating profile arranged to heat the identified region(s) to a greater temperature than other regions of the material; and forming the material in a mould to form the automatic dishwashing pouch, the automatic dishwashing pouch including a plurality of cavities (12).
Additional apparatus and methods for selective thermoforming
Thermoforming apparatus and methods are described. To-be-formed polymeric material may be separated initially from a mold surface by a grid or support rail, avoiding the mold surface from drawing heat away from the material while it is being heated to forming temperatures. The grid may retract into the mold when no longer needed to support the material. Plugs or inserts about which material is formed may include skirts, allowing the formed material to be shaped so as to guide coins or other objects into cavities in which the coins or objects are held for presentation or display. Profile plates associated with the molds may include non-stick material on their sides intended to abut to-be-formed polymeric sheets in order to reduce possibility of transfer of printing from the sheets to the plates and reduce undesired transfer of heat from the plates to the sheets.
Thermoforming machine and method
This thermoforming machine includes a thermoforming chamber having at least one heated air inlet through which heated air flows into the thermoforming chamber at a controlled pressure. The air inlet cooperates with a heated air flow distribution regulator located in the thermoforming chamber and through which the heated air flows out of the thermoforming chamber at a predetermined temperature. The regulator includes a heated air flow regulating mask receiving heated air flow, having a plurality of flow restricting elements providing different air flow restrictions.
THERMOFORMING MACHINE AND METHOD
This thermoforming machine includes a thermoforming chamber having at least one heated air inlet through which heated air flows into the thermoforming chamber at a controlled pressure. The air inlet cooperates with a heated air flow distribution regulator located in the thermoforming chamber and through which the heated air flows out of the thermoforming chamber at a predetermined temperature. The regulator includes a heated air flow regulating mask receiving heated air flow, having a plurality of flow restricting elements providing different air flow restrictions.
HEATING DEVICE FOR PRODUCING DETERGENT METERING UNITS WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES
The invention relates to a heating device (1) which is designed to heat a packaging film in a deep drawing process, over the course of which the heated packaging film is molded into the cavity of a deep drawing mold. The surface region of the heating device (1) which is brought into contact with the film section to be molded into the cavity has at least one depression (50), the opening area (40) of which equals 40 to 95% of the opening area (40) of the cavity. The invention also relates to a deep drawing device comprising the aforementioned heating device (1).
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DETERGENT-PORTION UNIT
A method for producing a portion unit with at least one filled receiving chamber surrounded by a film, comprising the steps of a) transporting a first film in the direction of a heating device; b) bringing the first film into contact with a surface of the heating device; c) heating the first film by means of the heating device; d) breaking the contact between the first film and the heating device; e) molding the first heated film into the cavities of a thermoforming mold, thereby forming a receiving container with at least one receiving chamber; f) filling the at least one receiving chamber; g) optionally closing and separating the filled receiving containers, thereby forming the portion unit, wherein the region on the surface of the heating device that is brought into contact with the film has at least one depression and, in step b), the at least one depression is covered by the subregions of the first film that are molded into the cavity of the thermoforming mold in step e).
Container with product visualization aperture
The present invention relates to a method for providing a product viewing window in a container. The container has at least a body ply and a liner ply, wherein the body ply has at least one aperture therethrough. The liner ply is adhered to the inner surface of the body ply and has a portion extending across the aperture, forming a window into the container. The method involves providing a window-finishing machine that comprises at least two platens and, optionally, a machine pocket positioned between them, a heating element extending through at least one of the platens, and a pressurized air device that is adapted to release pressurized air into the container through at least one of the platens. The container is engaged between the platens in an airtight manner and, optionally, the container window is positioned adjacent the inside wall of the machine pocket. The heating element heats the window of the container to the desired temperature, pressurized air is injected into the container such that the window is forced at least partially through the aperture of the container (and optionally into contact with the machine pocket wall), and the container window is then cooled to the desired temperature.
