Securing a second object to a first object
A method of mechanically securing a first object including a thermoplastic material in a solid state to a second object with a generally flat sheet portion, with a perforation of the sheet portion, and with the sheet portion having an edge along the perforation is provided, wherein the first object is positioned relative to the second object so that the edge is in contact with the thermoplastic material and wherein mechanical vibration energy is coupled into the assembly including the first and second objects until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material due to friction heat generated between the edge and the thermoplastic material becomes flowable and flows around the edge to at least partially embed the edge in the thermoplastic material. After the mechanical vibration stops, the thermoplastic material is caused to re-solidify, whereby the re-solidified thermoplastic material at least partially embedding the edge anchors the first object in the second object.

Method for Welding a Polyolefin Plastic and an Additional Plastic
The invention relates to a method for welding a polyolefin plastic and a plastic using a primer, said primer containing at least one maleic anhydride containing polymer and at least one polyester. The invention also relates to correspondingly bonded products.
Spinning joining of similar and dissimilar materials
A spin fastening system includes a first member and an adhesive layer applied to the first member. A second member is positioned in contact with the adhesive layer. At least a portion of the adhesive layer is cured after the second member is positioned in contact with the adhesive layer to render at least the portion of the adhesive layer substantially rigid. At least one spin fastener is inserted successively through each of the second member, the cured portion of the adhesive layer, and the first member.
SECURING A SECOND OBJECT TO A FIRST OBJECT

After the mechanical vibration stops, the thermoplastic material is caused to re-solidify, whereby the re-solidified thermoplastic material at least partially embedding the edge anchors the first object in the second object.
Connection element, connection arrangement, method for producing a connection element and method for producing a connection arrangement
A connection element includes a composite component with a cured epoxy resin, a first layer including a first thermoplastic polymer and an intermediate layer arranged between the composite component and the first layer, the first layer containing both the cured epoxy resin of the composite component and the first thermoplastic polymer of the first layer. The first thermoplastic polymer has a melting point above a curing temperature of the epoxy resin and is soluble at a temperature of at least 150? C. in the epoxy resin used for producing the composite component.
