Production method and production apparatus for thermoplastic film
In a production apparatus, a pass line for conveying a film is formed in parts of both belts wound on common rolls and in contact with each other across the film, a discharge port of a discharger is so provided that the molten resin reaches one first roll, out of a group of first rolls, on a side upstream of the pass line, and the common rolls include a cooling roll for cooling and solidifying the molten resin discharged from the discharge port and having reached the first roll.
METHOD FOR CONNECTING TWO JOINING SURFACES
The cutting of fibrous material which does not melt easily is effected to avoid the unravelling of cut edges, using ultrasonic or laser beam techniques. The method includes (a) applying a thermoplastic powder material to the cutting region, and (b) applying thermal shock to the localised area, sufficient to destroy the fibres of the material, and melt the powder on either side of the cut, and (c) pressing the cut edges while the fused thermoplastic powder is still soft. Woven or non-woven fabrics have tendency to unravel, after cutting, and normally require a sewn hem. The method of the invention disposes of the sewn hem, and provides a thermo-cutting technique applicable to non-fusible or non-thermoplastic fibres.
MANUFACTURING METHOD AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR LAMINATE
In a manufacturing method, resin in a molten state which becomes a film raw material is caused to hang down from a discharge port of a discharger and the film-like film raw material is continuously discharged, a sheet is conveyed along a sheet pass line, a tip part of the film raw material is formed by cutting and removing an initially formed part of the initially formed film raw material, the tip part is overlapped on the sheet on the sheet pass line, the sheet and the film raw material in a mutually overlapping state are conveyed along the sheet pass line, and the sheet and the film raw material are introduced to a joining part from the sheet pass line.
Curved elastic with entrapment
An apparatus for manufacturing an elastic composite structure includes a first roller configured to transport a web layer in a machine direction and a laydown guide configured to guide a laydown pattern of a plurality of elastic threads. A rotary anvil comprises a first weld line having a first notch formed in a contact surface of the first weld line, the first notch having a first interior configured to receive a portion of a first elastic thread of the plurality of elastic threads and a portion of the web layer therein. The first notch comprises a facing surface defining at least a portion of the first interior. A smallest orientation angle of a first face axis normal to the facing surface with respect to a contact surface axis normal to the contact surface is a first angle that is less than 90 degrees.
Manufacturing processes for absorbent articles with improved side seam bonding
Methods for forming absorbent articles and side seam bonds of absorbent articles are described. In one embodiment, a method of forming absorbent articles may comprise advancing webs, coupling absorbent cores to the webs intermittently to form open absorbent article chassis, folding the absorbent article chassis, forming a first side seam bond first bond pair between a first region of the webs and a second region of the webs with a first ultrasonic horn, forming a second side seam bond of the bond pair between the first region and the second region with a second ultrasonic horn, the first bond being associated with a first absorbent article chassis and the second side seam bond being associated with a second absorbent article chassis, and cutting the folded absorbent article chassis between the first bond and the second bond to separate the first absorbent article chassis from the second absorbent article chassis.
Method and apparatus for assembling apertured elastic laminates
The present disclosure relates to methods for making apertured elastic laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The methods and apparatuses may be close coupled such that materials may advance directly between aperturing and bonding operations. Such close coupling of devices may help to more precisely control the positions of the apertures in substrates relative to positions of apertures opposing substrates and/or bonds in the assembled laminate. The methods and apparatuses herein may also provide the ability to orient protrusions or protuberances in the substrates created by the aperturing process so as to extend inward and away from both outer surfaces of the assembled laminate. In turn, the assembly processes may be conducted so as to help mitigate reductions in softness that might otherwise result from the aperturing process in the assembled laminate.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR MAKING ELASTOMERIC LAMINATES WITH ELASTIC STRANDS
The present disclosure relates to methods for making elastomeric laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. In particular, discrete mechanical bonds are applied to a first substrate and a second substrate to secure elastic strands therebetween, wherein the discrete bonds are arranged intermittently along the machine direction. During the bonding process, heat and pressure are applied to the first substrate and the second substrate such that malleable materials of the first and second substrates deform to completely surround an outer perimeter of a discrete length of the stretched elastic strand. After removing the heat and pressure from the first and second substrates, the malleable materials harden to define a bond conforming with a cross sectional shape defined by the outer perimeter of the stretched elastic strand.
MANUFACTURING METHOD AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR LAMINATE
A manufacturing method including a first conveying step of conveying the sheet in a lateral or oblique lateral direction along a sheet pass line below the discharge port; a receiving step of receiving a tip part of the film raw material with the sheet on the sheet pass line, the tip part being discharged and hanging down from the discharge port; a second conveying step of conveying the sheet and the film raw material after the tip part overlaps the sheet on the sheet pass line, the second conveying step conveying the sheet and the film raw material in a mutually overlapping state along the sheet pass line; and an introducing step of introducing the sheet and the film raw material in the mutually overlapping state to the joining part from the sheet pass line.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ELASTIC LAMINATES
A method and apparatus for producing elastic laminates wherein a first and a second elastic film are stretched in the transverse direction by respective spreader devices, and are applied on a transfer wheel which—in turn—applies the first and second elastic films on a non-woven web held on the outer cylindrical surface of an anvil wheel.
