METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONNECTING FIBRE-REINFORCED WEBS
Method and device for connecting two webs (1), reinforced with unidirectionally oriented continuous fibres, by ultrasonic welding, wherein the fibres are embedded in a matrix of polycarbonate and the webs have abutting edges that are substantially square and substantially flat, characterized by the following steps:arranging the webs abutting one another in the region of the abutting edges in a welding device between a sonotrode (2) and an anvil (3),welding the webs by means of ultrasound, wherein the sonotrode and the anvil exert pressure on the webs to be welded in the melting region between the webs and perpendicularly to the abutting edges of the webs, removing the welded-together webs (4) from the welding device.
HIGH RATE ULTRASONIC SEALER
Embodiments herein include a system for joining components. The system can include a rotating base platform, a plurality of receptacles mounted to the base platform, and a rotating sonotrode platform. A plurality of sonotrodes are mounted to the sonotrode platform. Each sonotrode can correspond to a receptacle. Each sonotrode can move in a reciprocating motion between a release position distant from a corresponding receptacle and a compressing position proximal to the corresponding receptacle. The compressing position occurs at a first angular position of the sonotrode platform. Each sonotrode is energized at the compressing position.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FILLING FLEXIBLE TUBULAR BAG PACKAGING
A method can fill a flexible tubular-bag packaging with a filler that contains a coarse material and can close the tubular-bag packaging. The method includes: (a) introducing a filler into a tube, (b) displacing the filler out of a closure zone of the tube, (C) pinching-off the tube in the closure zone, (d) substance-to-substance joining of oppositely disposed regions of the tube in the closure zone to form closed ends of successive tubular bags, (e) separating a tubular bag from the tube, such that two ends of successive tubular bags produced by cutting of the tube are each closed by substance-to-substance bonding.
METHOD FOR USING TRANSVERSE SONOTRODE IN ULTRASONIC WELDING
A method for ultrasonic welding of materials, comprising generating ultrasonic waves in a welding assembly; transmitting the generated waves along the welding assembly in a first direction; receiving the generated waves in a sonotrode, the waves entering the sonotrode while propagating along the first direction; causing the received waves within the sonotrode to propagate along a second direction, perpendicular to the first direction; and oscillating a welding surface of the sonotrode using peaks and valleys of the waves propagating in the second direction.
ULTRASONIC BONDING OF ELASTIC FIBER
Elastic band products of high durability and quality are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods of producing durable, high quality elastic band products using modified anvil blocks, including shaped anvil blocks, anvil blocks with lateral protuberances and/or anvil blocks with teeth. The disclosed methods result in reduced elastic yarn thread slippage both during production and in the finished elastic band product.
SEALING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a sealing device (1, 101, 201) for sealing a packaging material (7, 107) enclosing a filling material (29) to provide portion-packed oral pouched snuff products (43). The sealing device comprises an anvil (3, 103, 203) with a first operation surface (11, 111, 211) and a sonotrode (5, 105, 205) with a second operation surface (13, 113), the anvil and the sonotrode being arranged to allow passage of the packaging material therebetween, the second operation surface being located opposite the first operation surface during operation of the sealing device. The first and second operation surfaces are arranged to weld a first portion (7a, 107a) of the packaging material to a second portion (7b, 107b) of the packaging material. At least one of the first or second operation surfaces comprises a first welding surface (11a, 111a) defining a first extension plane and a second welding surface (11b, 111b) defining a second extension plane, which has a different orientation than the first extension plane. The first and second welding surfaces are partly delimited by a cutting edge (15, 115, 215) having an extension direction along the first and second welding surfaces, such that the cutting edge separates the first welding surface from the second welding surface. The present invention further relates to an arrangement (19) for manufacturing of portion-packed oral pouched snuff products, which arrangement comprises such a sealing device. The present invention also relates to a method for portion-packing of an oral pouched snuff product.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GATHERED MATERIAL
An apparatus for producing a gatherable material, wherein the material consists of at least two material web sections and one thread positioned between the material web sections, wherein the apparatus has a tool with a sealing surface and a counter-tool with a counter-sealing surface, wherein the tool and the counter-tool are arranged relative to one another such that the material web sections and the thread are guided through a gap formed by the tool and counter-tool, wherein the tool and/or the counter-tool has a groove for receiving the thread, wherein the groove is orientated in a feed direction divides the sealing or counter-sealing surface into partial sealing surfaces, and has a groove base and two side walls, wherein the side walls connect the groove base to the partial sealing surfaces, and at least one of the partial sealing surfaces has a flank which slopes down towards the groove base.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GATHERED MATERIAL, AND GATHERED MATERIAL
A method for producing a gatherable material comprising the steps of: a) providing two material web sections and a thread in between, b) providing processing device having a tool with a sealing surface and a counter-tool with a counter-sealing surface, the tool and the counter-tool being arranged relative to one another such that a gap is formed in between, the tool and/or the counter-tool having a groove for guiding the thread, c) passing the web sections and the thread through the gap, so that the two material web sections are welded together at two connecting surfaces, the thread being arranged between the two connecting surfaces such that there is a positive connection between the thread and the material web sections, a cross-section of the thread relative to a cross-section of the groove being selected such that an outer section of the thread is also welded to the material web sections.
